I wanted Spurs to add height to their frontline in the summer & once Gakpo was out, Igor Matanovic from Freiburg stood out. He has started this season on fire. His game is more well-rounded than Sesko (the easy comparison & who scored 11 last season). Spurs need to look beyond the PL. #COYS 1/2

If Gakpo is unrealistic, Tottenham should look into Baris Alper Yilmaz from Galatasaray where he is adored. He is rapid, can play all across the front & is very good aerially. It looks like Gala want Leao & Pape Sarr. They turned down €35m from Everton. €40 or swap deal may get it done. #COYS

Double celebration of my son’s birthday & graduation, so I marinated NY strip steaks with fresh rosemary, thyme, tarragon & parsley plus garlic & a touch of balsamic vinegar, then lump charcoal grilled. A lovely Gigondas to pair with it. The meal was finished with a fresh peach pie. 😋

Different sport, but I saw countless times last year, the NY Giants blow a lead late in the game playing passively sitting back on defense. When you play not to lose, more often you do. England gifted Argentina far too much possession far too early. Spence did himself & Spurs proud though.

I realize there has been a totally ugly heat wave across the pond but Wednesday & Thursday will crest 100°F (38°C) here in NJ. I don’t know how they’re going to play World Cup matches. Thankfully I’m heading north to Maine where it’ll be a reasonable (😂) 94°F or 34.5°C. Global warming for all!
