Repa enables fair transactions between buyers and collectors of plastic waste in Africa. It uses community agents + drivers + simple digital tools. A crowdfund incentivises collection of harder-to-recycle plastics by paying an above market rate. Find out more: repa.eco #plasticsky

A fair deal for waste pickers in the Global South.
Repa connects individuals and businesses with people who collect and sort plastic waste for a living. Working with local entrepreneurs, mobile technology, community agents and trusted transporters, we support fair, sustainable and circular markets for waste plastic in countries where plastic pollution is overwhelming communities.

Just finished this. Hadn't heard of Adam Oyebanji before - picked it up at an airport because the author hails from Coatbridge - round the corner from one of my first jobs. Pleasantly surprised, will be looking for more of his books. #booksky @independentpublishersguild.com

Just came across this at a Madrid book fair. Seems very apt for the times. Not sure how tongue in cheek it is. #booksky

Finally reading Alasdair Nairn's excellent "Engines that move markets". In the snippet below about the collapse of Britain's railway boom, one could easily replace 'railway' with 'AI' and 'Hudson' with 'Altman'. #booksky #aibubble

Just finished this excellent book by @drshashitharoor.bsky.social . It very much drives home the message you can imagine from the title and subtitle, supported by ample factual references. #booksky

Just finished this book. Took ages to read as what it covers is so sad. @jeffhorwitz.bsky.social tries to give the benefit of the doubt to Facebook/Meta's senior execs, but my inescapable conclusion is that they are absolutely amoral, but like to believe/pretend that they are society's saviours.

Finally finished this magisterial historical novel. Took over 2 years, mainly due to having so many sad bits.
