HS science teachers out there take note. This is a fascinating intersection of the fields of biology and physics.

The word "researched" is doing some very heavy lifting here. Clearly we are dropping the ball when it comes to science education in this country. Modern germ theory dates to the 1860s with Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch. Our grandparents knew this. I don't know what happened.

As always in this day and age the media is terrified to even mention vaccination status. You don't have a mumps outbreak on your football team if the players are vaxed. The MMR is about 90% effective against mumps. We are ruled by sociopathic idiots: www.espn.com/college-foot...

A rant about college sports and a tale of two universities. I grew up in Eugene in the 70s before it became Niketown and when winning 5 football games was a good year. But the university itself was respected and was an economic engine for the state as state universities should be.

While the information is interesting, this is a classic example of a bad graph and points to the atrophy of standards and quality control at the Post under Bezos. I'll use this in my science classes as an example of what not to do. Anyone else see what is wrong with this graph?

Utterly self-defeating for Republicans to do this. Red states and red-leaning professions rely much more heavily on the ACA. In my extended family the "libs" tend to have professional jobs with employer-coverage. The MAGA side are more farmers, truckers, contractors who rely on the ACA.

173,000 terawatts (trillions of watts) of solar energy strikes the Earth continuously. That's more than 10,000 times the world's total energy use. Sunlight travels 93 million miles to the earth in 8.3 seconds and guess what? Not one bit of it has to pass through the Strait of Hormuz to reach us.

What the fuck does this even mean for a History classroom?
We should also be realistic and revolutionary, adopting this tried-and-tested principle - what I call "teach both, test both" - for AI now. Every subject, from history to English literature, should be divided in two: teach students to use AI in one part, teach students to flourish without it in the other - and, crucially, examine both. A teacher cannot monitor whether or not a student uses Al in the quiet solitude of their bedroom. But nothing can replace the feeling of sitting in an exam, looking at the paper, and feeling that cold sweat when you realise you haven't prepared for both parts.
