There’s growing evidence to suggest that’s not the case. E.g. 2012 study in Minnesota found families were able to “move on sooner because their loved ones' killers were sentenced to life without parole, they weren't retraumatized in the multiple appeals that often precede an execution.”

I know it’s technically difficult, but reviews of AR goggles or glasses that make no attempt to show you what you’d actually see in front of you - even if it’s just a hand drawn sketch - continue to be not at all helpful.

I notice he wasn’t invited back for this week’s Champion of Champion of Champion’s week, though.

The difference is, in all those waves, the computers did exactly what you told them, right or wrong. Nobody knows what AI is likely to do half the time, including the people who are making all the money from them.

Sadly not. Means I still have to put up with my wife watching it 😅

I always found him to be a fundamentally irritating man tbh. Didn’t mind his stand-up stuff, but can barely watch anything he acts in, because you just know he’s spent most of his time being fundamentally irritating on set, and trying to turn every other scene into an improv session.

To be honest, I didn’t mind the ending so much as some of the stuff that got them there.

“He added: ‘Basil is about to deliver the eulogy and says what an absolutely wonderful woman Sybil was. And then the camera pans around and you see that behind his back he has his fingers crossed.’ Gutted that this kind of comedy gold may never see the light of day.

It definitely reached a conclusion. It wasn’t one I particularly loved, but most people apparently did.

I never upgrade until my old stuff dies. My laptop is an M1 MacBook Pro, my wife’s is an M1 Air. No plans to replace either, although I really miss the 15” form factor. (I still have a 15” 2015 MacBook Pro in my home office that gets used for random stuff fairly regularly.)

From what I remember, the early Timex models were still sold as Sinclair ZX81s in the US too, before they switched to the TS 1000 branding.

I’ll always buy from an independent if I can, but to be honest I’ll be buggered if I can tell the difference between the coffee they all serve. (Ditto all the different beans I grind myself at home for my pourovers… they all taste much the same really, but I enjoy doing it anyway.)

I don't own anything remotely modern enough to play it on, but interested to watch the footage as I spent a ton of time visiting my granny in St Monans growing up.

In the case of the hole in the ozone layer, that's because we more or less successfully eradicated it. (I suppose that applies to Five Star, too, except it didn't need a global treaty to get rid of them.)

Decent snooker game for the time, although I preferred CodeMasters Pro Snooker Simulator a few years later.

Oh, this is a useful set of statistics. You can use it to assess just what sort of numbers of JOBS the Government means when it says we need the data centres in Ireland for the JOBS. You’d create more employment running a small chain of centras.

Most years there are a good few entries from acts that have already had a successful career with a few hits in their own country or further afield. So yes, generally quite representative, and of a high enough perceived quality to sustain livelihoods.

Don't think I've used a non-paper handkerchief since about the 1990s. The very idea of re-wiping your nose in your own dried snot gives me the ick.

The Speccy conversion of R-Type was an amazing feat. And I’m still amazed at not only how good Megadodo’s Phoenix port was for 1983, but that it ran in 16K. Match Point is still an incredibly playable tennis game, Turbo Esprit was a great proto-GTA, and Skool Daze was a masterpiece.

I am glad people are buying Johnny Marr's guitars. Anything that makes a Smiths reunion less likely.
