I actually just found screenshots from when the Crystal team beat Red. Typlosion hit Lv.50 by the end of the battle!

A screenshot of Pokémon Crystal, with a textbox stating, "PKMN Trainer Red was defeated!" A level 46 Kingdra stands victorious with 16 HP remaining.

A screenshot from Pokémon Crystal, showing the team that defeated Red on Mt. Silver. Their levels after winning the battle: 47 Golem, 45 Scizor, 46 Kingdra, 50 Typhlosion, 45 Gengar, 43 Crobat.

Tomorrow, Discord will place everyone into an age group using account signals. They claim 90% of users won't have to confirm their age. They are also introducing new verification methods if you do need to verify that you are an adult, including Credit Cards and App Stores.

More than 90% of you won’t be asked to confirm your age. Since our last post about teen safety, we've had to launch age assurance solutions in more places, including Texas and Brazil. Laws requiring age assurance are expanding around the world. Rather than waiting to be told how to do it, we’re launching our own privacy-preserving approach: one that reflects your feedback.
You can check your age group status at User Settings > Account Status. We've estimated your age group automatically from account signals like how long your account has existed or the kinds of servers you're a part of. We don’t look at your messages, calls, or other content. We're launching this over the course of this week, so it may take a few days to reach your account.
If you're in the adult age group (18+), nothing changes. If you're in the teen age group (13-17), you can keep messaging friends, joining voice calls, and participating in non-age-restricted servers, but with additional safety protections that block age-restricted content, spaces, and settings. Otherwise, Discord works the same. More on this below.
We've added several new ways to confirm your age, including some that don't require an ID or selfie (including credit cards). If you're an adult but weren't automatically placed in the adult age group, you can confirm your age group at any time by going to User Settings > Account Status. More on the new options below.

New #ResidentEvil movie was easily the best live action take on the series. RE "fans" deserve nothing, and fuck 'em if they did indeed chase Zach Cregger away from ever making another one; that was a fun movie.

I see lots of people my age, especially on YouTube, *continuing* to adopt (the bastardization of) "unc" despite being unsure of the term. Sometimes they use it to self-deprecate. Great time to remind everyone: That's not what unc is. Being regarded as UNCLE by someone? You might have to earn that.

That's Not What Unc Means

You’d never know the meaning of unc or its origins in black culture if you looked to mainstream media.

After years of dragging my feet, Gen 1's living dex has been reconstructed, and is now *complete. The * is, it's only as complete as is legitimately possible via my original #Pokémon Gen 1 & 2 cartridges. The missing 3 will have to wait until Gen 3. For now, Gen 2 is next in the race against time.

A screenshot of a living dex for all Kanto Pokémon, including shiny versions and unique female variants. All are indicated as caught, except for a shiny Mew, shiny female Venusaur, and shiny female Eevee.

It just occurred to me (while racing against the Pokémon Bank closure) that I don't think I ever posted my #Pokémon Crystal 2025 Hall of Fame team. Same team went on to defeat Red on Mt. Silver, lowest being Lv.43 and highest being Lv.48. Still filling out my living dex with no one above 50 yet!

Every time people ask me why I'm breeding Shiny #Pokémon for Gen 1 & 2 using my Crystal save, I tell them: Bluto. 1 in 64.

Shiny Ditto's in game sprite from Pokémon Crystal. Sometimes referred to as a Bluto.

Sad fact is, there is no way to delude yourself into believing any "loyalty to the fans" remains; everything is for future money, and even Home's services will one day be killed. There is no official local connectivity left. Veterans will HAVE to use unofficial methods for connectivity now.

080

Marcel (Calmer) Mejia @calmer.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

An artist's rendition of how the official connectivity between #Pokémon games will look when Pokémon Bank is killed in 6 months. "We want to kill all connectivity to, and between, any game released before 2018 if we can." They decided this years ago, and want to do it for the 31st anniversary.

An edited chart depicting the future lack of connectivity between 31 years of Pokémon games, once Pokémon Bank is killed in 6 months. Gens 1 and 2 are isolated once again, unable to connect to anything else. Gens 3, 4, and 5 are only able to connect to each other. Gen 6 is completely isolated. Gen 7 is completely isolated. All games released 2018 onward use Pokémon Home for connectivity.

Skipped multiple generations myself; the tower threw me for a loop at first, but it ultimately comes down to Type Bonuses. Once you understand the Type points system, from there you sorta synergize your team with your passive items. You figure it out as you go. I consider the Story mode harder now!

Let it be known that right now, I'm playing the new Endless Mode in #Pokelike, and this setup I put together is *still going* without faltering. I'm starting to think I might have to lose on purpose to ever collect the reward money...

A shiny level 1134 Swampert leads a full shiny party of Garchomp, Torterra, Starmie, Gastrodon, and Quagsire, all of which are above level 1000, through Pokelike's endless mode. The party's Traits are Level 5 Ground, Level 4 Water, Level 1 Dragon, Level 1 Grass, and Level 1 Psychic. Passive Items are Macho Brace, Soothe Bell, Casteliacone, Iron Ball, Eject Button, Sea Incense, Mystic Water, and Mirror Herb. Combined with alternating use of Held Items such as Mystic Water, Metronome, and Lucky Egg, the party remains undefeated with Swampert as the leading sweeper.

Pt. 2, since I'm caught up: Thankfully, people seem to realize the vast majority of folks had nothing to do with it, and that it wasn't malicious. Swift correction is rare; accountability is rarer. Pretty sure this isn't going to stop any of us from continuing the legacy of good that's been built.

Part of the fun of watching #Re:ZERO at the same time as a friend is us hypothesizing about the episode... Leading me to go full CSI on the ep, pausing to see single frames, rewatching previous eps to hear a voice... And, to my friend's agreement, solving one of the big mysteries of this season.

Hey @vampire.poncle.games, minor thing I'm curious about: Any chance we'll see some visual readjustment of numbers that get BIG? 7 digit overkills get squashed, Durations cut off at 3.5 digits (mine were 5 here), and combos only have room for 2 digits. Either way, Crawlers is fantastic; I love it!
