Non-human animals are so deeply oppressed that simply speaking up for their basic rights is seen as anti-human. That’s how supremacy works, it frames inclusion as a threat.

I went into my interpretation of Stray without reading any reviews or analyses. Turns out, the game is not what I expected at all. What with @whalesorg.bsky.social #WODFest fundraiser to remove abandoned fishing gear from the ocean, I've been thinking about waste a lot lately. This book feels very appropriate. There is no throwing anything 'away,' it just goes elsewhere. We often forget about all the waste hidden in our oceans.

Such an important point. We're still struggling to recognise games as legitimate art/culture. I'm finally allowing myself to turn my research towards games after decades of assuming they weren't 'important' enough for serious analysis. Yet they were the stories that shaped me the most as a person.
