Indian Government forces GitHub to take down Bitchat "Bitchat enables anonymous communication without mandatory user registration, phone number verification, or centralized logging The architecture significantly impedes interception, attribution, and investigation by law enforcement agencies."

What are P2A and ephemeral dust? Please explain in simple terms, without using Lightning Network lingo. In particular I am curious about the purpose of this address type, how it is created, why it ...

Are single-user non-custodial cashu mints punished in an ecash world? If i were to run a mint because i want to still do self-custody lightning, would people even accept willbucks zaps? How does that work.

The mempool continues to be almost empty. The UTXO set peaked at 188M around Christmas and continues to trend down since. It has now fallen below 180M. Next block: 1.02 ṩ/vB+ #mempoolreport
Screenshot of mempool.space. There are barely more than two blocks worth of transactions waiting for confirmation with the next block starting at 1.02 ṩ/vB. The recent blocks show one block that is not full.

I intentionally didn't buy Bitcoin in 2011 because it sounded like a scam back then, as it still does today (even more so).

No matter how much you defend Bitcoin or make arguments for it, I will never consider it moral or good. I've stayed away from it since the first time I heard of it in 2011.

Source is UN but I think they have it wrong. What matters is that Bitcoin was invented to do crime, whereas the Dollar has many legitimate use cases.

> This mind-boggling number exceeds known timescales in physics and vastly exceeds the age of the universe. It lends credence to the notion that quantum computation occurs in many parallel universes, in line with the idea that we live in a multiverse, a prediction first made by David Deutsch. Why?

Bitcoin is extremely slow. If the Blockchain was issued by a single computer, it would be way faster and energy efficient. Why don't they do that? Because they don't understand computers.

That's why Bitcoin is unfit as a money. Its supply doesn't expand as the number of people living on this planet grows. The more people we are, the higher the chance that one of them finds new gold. As it should be in a healthy society. Study economics, crypto bros. Fixed supply is stupid.

It's unfortunate. Bitcoin allows criminals to use ransomware and evade sanctions – it also allows Afghani women to free themselves from patriarchy, and refugees to flee across borders. I'm sorry. The bad weighs heavier than the "good". There are other ways to free yourself (S&P500, gold, etc..).
