I eventually settled on ヴィ (not ヴィー). My heroine's name is spelled "Wi" but pronounced like a hard European "Vi". It's an abbreviation of her legal name, which remains a mystery in her profile, though a few characters know it.

According to traditional Japanese transliteration rules, my main character's name, Wi, should probably be written as ビー. Her common nickname, Wiwi, would be ビビ. But as far as I know, modern Japanese allows different ways to spell foreign names.

And those are far from all the OCs. There's a fish shop owner; a one-legged former sailor always offering Cavallone help to chase away "scum"; his young daughter who keeps her dad out of trouble; and a local businesswoman who organizes a women's club. In short, there are quite a few of them.

The literary agency staff (Wi, Louisa, and Nina, my OCs) are a walking sitcom, and Romario often calls them "a handful." Dino loves laughing with them during his visits to feel like a normal person, while investing in the book business maintains the social image of the Cavallone family.

Among my OCs are a baker and his adult son, who pass useful info to the Cavallone family via notes hidden in pastries from their local shop. There is also Diego—Dino's laid-back, ladies' man subordinate who loves dropping philosophical quotes over cigarette smoke.

In the canon, almost nothing is said about Dino Cavallone's surroundings, other than the fact that he cares deeply about ordinary citizens. So it would be great to focus on this unexplored aspect in my fanworks. I think there would be characters just as colorful as the ones in the Varia or Vongola.

On the other hand, traditional Italian folk outfits look amazing on Louisa (also my OC). I think she loves anything that highlights her Sicilian vibe: from her choice of accessories to the prints on her bags. Even her poetry is steeped in the spirit of Sicilian streets.
