More importantly, Ukraine was EXPLICITLY NEUTRAL when Russia launched this war on 20.02.2014. The Rada and President made a formal declaration of Non-Alignment on 1 July 2010, and signed into law prohibitions against any future government seeking membership in any alliance.

Yanukovych was still President on 20.02.2014. A NATO's requirement for a Ukrainian application to join is for Ukraine to hold a referendum on a constitutional amendment, for non-alignment is in Ukraine's founding documents. Support for NATO membership was below 25%. Still waiting for that link.

Perhaps instead of listening to the opinions of others it would be helpful to review primary sources. Such as the Helsinki Final Act, which was elevated as the central security agreement between Russia and the West by the 1990 Paris Charter. The HFA directly contradicts the opinions you cite.
