2024 was the deadliest year in the Channel, with 89 people killed by hostile policies enforced at the France-UK border. The mystery remains entire as to the exact number of missing persons that year. And other years are no exception.

In February 2026, a commemorative plaque was installed by persons unknown at Cap Blanc Nez (Calais). It has now disappeared. Nearly 10 years ago, Calais Town Hall firmly refused to install a commemorative plaque despite requests to do so. This is a political choice.

Meanwhile far right activists are currently still present on the coastline, trying to prevent the "invasion" of UK. People on the move are HUMAN BEINGS. Seeking asylum is a HUMAN RIGHT. Most people on the move at the France-UK border can't ask for asylum in France due to absurd EU regulations.
