Hey, safety is key! So I wonder what's more likely: A bridge collapsing right in front of you, or a car rear-ending you and compromising the highly pressurized tank that sends you through a house

AI is conscious AND it is my girlfriend AND it is my slave. A perfect scenario for me, a normal person. Not gonna think too deeply about this. Now do all other living human people deserve the level of investment devoted to my Tamogotchi slave girlfriend? Not so fast.

The climate argument really does feel like people grasping at straws. The major cities in Scandinavia all have cycling infrastructure, well maintained and actively in use year-round. Winter is not an issue

Throwing billions in public money behind a pipeline at a time of climate breakdown – while sweeping aside environmental protections, meaningful Indigenous consultation and workers’ right to strike – is absolutely not in the national interest.

Canadian centrists who are terrified of Trump are behaving exactly like conservatives. Nothing matters but their fear, which they'll use to justify absolutely anything, no matter how harmful. It's been sickening to see not only how easy people are to manipulate, but how much they actively enjoy it.

No. But I don't think you only do the right thing if it leads to instant results. Ultimately a major part of the genocide is that the perpetrators feel completely insulated from repercussions, so let's at least start by not giving them explicit permission to use our airspace and go from there
