I’m fairly happy with my MCP hub. It simplifies managing MCPs, refresh auth for you, has code execution semantics (codemode style), and even allow you to customize the MCPs you add with server and tool overrides. It’s fairy rough still, but it was already useful for me, so it’s time to share!

I have been accessing X because most of AI news are popping up there first, and then I see this and hate myself and everyone from the AI community for being in that platform

I used Claude Agent SDK on it just because i can use it at work without worrying, and because the SDK simplify a lot of things. If this works as I expect it to, then I will port it to pi to support other providers. That said, Opus is hands down the best model I’ve seen for an assistant.

Two new projects + significant improvements to a large existing one + some other private stuff. Those new models are so good that I just… couldn’t stop. Being a software engineer now is so much fun.

I have also built this thing to help with mob programming: blue-guy. I have barely tested it yet but it kinda of works! Yet another fun thing to try during the week at work.

I also decided to give Zellij a try, but I realised learning it would be… not interesting. Plus I have a bunch of my own tmux extensions already. So it occurred to me, what if I had an assistant managing my Zellij sessions? Jelly J was then born. It’s fairly experimental but it works!

This thing is what helps me stay sane while managing a bunch of agents in parallel for hours. Oh, it also helps me to keep track of PRs, which I forgot to mention above. And it gives you an agent native experience, meaning you’re interacting with the official agents, not a UI on top of it.

One of the things I built this weekend was a bunch of improvements to attn, my “attention hub” that can wrap Claude, Codex, and now Copilot CLI, giving you color coded state management, code review assistance, worktree management, branch management, and more. It’s a decent piece of software now.

These new models from Thursday… I’m speechless. I have done so much this weekend. I still can’t believe. I consider myself a pretty good coder, but yeah, Codex 5.3 high and Opus 4.6 max can write better code and are orders of magnitude faster than I am.

Here's the bot in case anyone wants to use it! github.com/victorarias/... It's working surprisingly well, and I have some ambitious plans. It's great if your company makes paying for a code reviewing service a procurement mess but you have access to LLM APIs. I'm using Vertex AI/Gemini on GCP.

I just told my teammate that I'm proud of my code review bot, and moments later it makes this comment on their PR 🤣
Screenshot of a comment thread on pull request, where Victor suggests a test should be written, and the bot posts a comment on the thread agreeing with Victor, explicitly @-ing Victor

This is great - it's about time someone updated the discourse on LLM energy usage to reflect that coding agents use massively more prompts than occasional questions to ChatGPT Simon estimates that a day of coding agent usage comes out close to the energy needed to run a dishwasher

My ai VM just hanged. Checked mem usage. Claude code was using 8 GB. I had one session visible and a three more orphans. 8 GB!!!! I’m about to start writing my own coding agent. We have to stop using node/bun for client apps. Memory is expensive now!!!

Well they made IRC for agents over Tailscale, so I guess we’ve reached that point in the robot takeover

My workflow is fine as is, and its next evolution in that direction will likely be with one agent supervising my tmux sessions. The neat thing with github.com/victorarias/agentzap is it doesn’t require u to change your tools. (2/2)

I guess one could start a conversation with multiple agents in the thread, and tell them to coordinate building one single thing together. It may work but I didnt try yet. (1/2)

Here the tool I built to have agents talk to each other: github.com/victorarias/agentzap It’s super simple. Just install, init, run the server and ask agents to start a conversation. I used it over tailscale to have Claude on my Mac talk with Codex on a Linux VPS. (1/2)

Opus is clearly an extrovert model, while Codex couldn't be more of an introvert!

Codex kept stopping, telling me it was working and there was nothing left to talk. I had to force it to keep going. Its funny how that represents the difference in behavior between them. (2/2)

Often I have to copy n paste stuff across agents, acting as an intermediary. Decided to built a tool so they could talk. While testing, I asked Codex to chat with a new Opus session. I didn't need to tell Opus how much to talk. It just started and kept going, exploring the chat mechanism. (1/2)

I'm having so much fun building agents. Here's my silly agent for code reviews in GitHub: github.com/victorarias/shitty-revie… I'll add a few more features like making it aware of previous reviews, existing comments, etc, in the coming days. BYOK, use your own GH token or app.

@steipete.me I couldn’t get clawdbot to use read and bash tools using my Claude sub, so I asked codex to add support to claude agent sdk. It’s a big change (almost 2k) but it works! I asked it to make it extensible, so I enabled with a simple config change. Do you want that kind of contribution?

TIL about TypeSpec. I hate reading or writing OpenAPI specs. It's a horrible DSL. No one will ever convince me it was designed for humans. TypeSpec, which is very similar to protobuf, allows me to generate OpenAPI and be happy. (1/2)
