Monitor controller works just need to shove it all onto the case. Technically I need a USB-C hub that also fits in there but atm its not happening due to space in the case.

Update: got the touch pad working Elantech track pad from the ASUS EEE pc 900E is now working and mostly fully featured. it lacks true multi touch but you get finger counts when you do inputs so click and drag works as well as right click and corner shortcuts.

Test setup for figuring out exactly wtf this touchpad uses... Well everyone it's 5v on clock and data lines and it cost me my rp2040 to learn that lol. I'm a dummy. But it captured the traffic with its dieing breaths. Yes this was so preventable. It's ps/2 btw

Working on adding a steamdeck mobo into the Asus eee netbook. It's such a cool form factor. Got the keyboard working but the touchpad of challenging.

Building a custom solar power auditing device! The goal is to get granular data on power performance to better understand solar panel efficiency. I just picked sensors I thought were cool and added all of them (Component notes/details in alt text) the light sensors overlap a lot, thoughts?

(photo of 3 breadboards connecting sensors and a microcontroller)

Circuit Playground Bluefruit (microcontroller)

INA260(power monitoring): 36V and 15A.

Data Logging Shield: SD card/crappy RTC DS1307

DS3231 RTC: better RTC

TSL2591: High-sensitivity light sensor
spectral range:300 nm – 1100 nm.

MAX44009: Lux sensor
normalized spectral range approximately: 500 nm – 620 nm.

ALS-PT19(onboard the Bluefruit) ambient light sensor
spectral range: 390 nm – 700 nm.

Shooting this tarantula was a treat. Most of the time they are so calm once they get settled. But it takes time to get used to their presence even when they are still but especially when they are moving. #spiders

A tarantula on a piece of bark. The tarantula's thorax is a metallic blue. Its legs are a hint of blue as well. Its abdomen has a fur that contrasts well with the blue metal shine of its thorax.

Jumping spider waking up at the camera with green shiny fangs and cute little black eyes

Jumping spider on wood, hugging low to the wood

Jumping spider on cloth has now captured a small bug and is grasping it because the shell is too thick to bite into its fangs are shining brilliantly

Phone photo, but still. A beautiful and curious wild jumping spider. She was very curious about me and noticed I was watching her so she tried to get close to me and even climbed my shoe a bit. At first tho she was very timid and would hide at the slightest movement. My favorite part of today.

Bold jumping spider, with green fangs and a specks of dirt on her fuzz. She looks at the camera curiously while clingy to some wood.

In the year 536AD a small loaf of bread might cost you 2500USD in gold. This was due to a volcanic eruption (possibly two) which caused a long period of darkness reducing crop yields or causing them to fail completely. It is known as the worst possible year to be alive in the last 2000 years.

Y’all. This works way better than it has any right to. 2A type c power bank from any 18650 using only one side. Also had to make a flashlight add on. Gonna run more tests and get a production run going. Lmk if you want a tester.

Five 18650 lithium cells sit on a silver lunchbox. They each have a translucent grey 3d printed cap with a usb c port in the center. One of them has a board with LEDs in the port. There’s another assembly in the background on a charger showing pink led indicators. A lone PCB up front shows a few pogo pins on its bottom.

Vape I took apart today, it has a flexible PCB that has some functional lights on it to indicate capacity of fluid (a guess at it at least) and, power levels. Pretty cool. I think 2 microcontrollers were used for this which seems like a waste, I wonder if anyone has ever tried to repurpose them.

One of several books that I don't understand. "Selected semiconductor circuits handbook" #circuits #electronics #semiconductors #books

Front cover. Shows a circuit diagram with the words "selected pairs of 2n355, 2n356, 2n337, 2n338 or 2n542."
At the bottom left and "John Wiley & sons, inc., publishers" on the bottom right.

Top section of the cover shows credits for the book. "editor Seymour Schwartz
Co-authors Robert e. McMahon, Arthur w. Carlson, carl r. Hurting, William f. Santeomann junior, H. C. LIN, peter G. Sulzer, Richard r. Mac millan and Robert Smith.

Below the paper protective cover is a sleek black cover with a gold embossed symbol of a PNP transistor. It's rather elegant and beautifully simple.

In the front cover Someone has signed, Allan F. Potter. In neat cursive handwriting.

The first page of the table of contents shows there are sections in this book including. Intro, direct-coupled amplifiers, their design philosophy several sub sections about them and then selected circuits and their diagrams.

I love this one it makes me feel so happy looking at it. Lots of wonderful shades form the sun setting and the clouds covering the sea. #italy #naples #landscape

The Naples coastline in Italy shows grass in the foreground then behind that is blue green water hitting the shores with a white foam, you can see many small white structures lining the beach. Further back in the background you see a large green and dark sandy colored cliff with some small structures sprinkled across it's flat top, more inland on the cliff is a large cluster of white and redtan structures. The weather is slightly cloudy and has a light blue sky .

I have a problem, if I want to learn a new skill I start collecting information and learning material, I hoard this stuff and then I fail to actually get really into learning. I enjoy collecting more than I enjoy the grind of learning, I really dislike that.
