And what's more, it's not worse for the positivity. The character development is better, the characters are more interesting, and the worldbuilding is great. A rare sequel that builds its own thing and does great at it. A Nicholas Cage / Coppola of a movie.

It's not the film The Shining was, but I like it more. It has more heart and a better message. Instead of "I've got a story about madness and isolation and murder and I'm torturing an actress to tell it", it's a story about responsibility, growth, redemption and helping kids be their best selves.

In fairness, it's not just capitalism. It's a "shit floats" issue. If you play a game with published and documented rules then cunning arseholes will find ways to manipulate flaws in those rules to maximise return on minimum skill or effort. You have to change the rules every so often to fox 'em.

I don't think there's been any issue Bill Maher has made a point of that I remember agreeing with him about. I haven't consciously realized this until now, but to me he is part of a subconscious grouping I will call "enjoys too much the smell of their own farts".

You're right! Once you remove disposability from the mix, it opens up the design to all the customization of the water bottles you find at the store. The only limitations need be that it holds two litres of liquid and has a moderately standard opening.

I'd love to see soda fountains appear in supermarkets; instead of buying your carbonated pop in a bottle, you screw in a two-litre that you brought and it dispenses two litres of what you request. Sanitation is tricky but not insurmountable. You could sell sturdier bottles, even.

I like to see some use on books. I've come to realize - through the embarrassingly pristine state of a lot of my OWN book piles - that owning books doesn't make you a book lover, reading them does. Mind you, I think I might have lost the bookmark crowd at "book piles".
