In Louisiana, for regular criminal charges, they can hold you for 60 days without charges. And if you can’t post bond, you sit in jail. Often bail is set very high to make sure you cannot get out.

Every day in Louisiana this happens. They can hold you in jail, with no charges, on a bond so high you couldn’t ever make it in your life, for 60 days! No charges filed for 60 days! That’s just the law, and you can’t get out bc magistrates set enormous bonds
