If you lock yourself in a theater in Ikebukuro and watch four of them in a row then they average out to be...kind of ok!

Schedule for four Tomie movies, starting at 10pm and ending at 5:40am

I was reading back issues of "Mycom BASIC" magazine from 1998 (as one does) and noticed this message from a game enthusiast gushing about how much he likes Hideo Kojima's games in a particularly charming way

Japanese magazine page, featuring the intro to a submitted piece of software that plays an interpretation of some music from Tokimeki Memorial

Zoomed in view of the same page, talking about Tokimeki Memorial in general and ending with a message along the lines of "Speaking of Konami, I really like the works of Director Kojima (the game creator). The bomb defusal scene in Policenauts is extremely nostalgic for me"

Audition (1999) at Waseda Shouchiku! This is the kind of thing that sort of calcifies in your mind and it's easy to only retain the most memorable moments, so I had kind of forgotten how artful and well crafted the rest of it is. ...I still had to look away from the screen twice
