#booktok 📚🐦‍⬛ Its a pity I never see this book on here. "Ah! vanitas vanitatum! Which of us is happy in this world? Which of us has his desire? or, having it, is satisfied?—Come, children, let us shut up the box and the puppets, for our play is played out." c2lem.com/books/Vanity...

#booktok 📚🐦‍⬛ This is another of my illness-audio comfort listens. I have to say though that it wasn't *quite* comfortable or rather that it was comfortable in the same way you might feel looking at old snapshots of your 10-years departed German Shepard over a cup of tea.

#booktok 📚✨Sick last week, needed a comfort listen from Hoopla. This was perfect: a well-told story of really bad people doing really bad things to get revenge on other really bad people. Swords and Blood Galore. Chicken soup for my soul. c2lem.com/books/Best_S...

#booktok Ice by Jacek Dukaj 🧊✨📚 Locus best translated. Its 1200 pages and 12? of those pages an essay about how hard the xlation was. Started strong but I lost the plot half way through and trudged through to the end as a mission. Very ambitious book that I failed at. c2lem.com/books/BIP_/I...

📚🦉The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon 🔍🗝️Read this for bragging rights, so here I am bragging, but I do not have any profound insights into what this novel meant. But do know that you will need to read this book at least twice simply to comprehend. #booknotes c2lem.com/books/crying...

📚✨ Book Review ✨📚 The Magician of Tiger Castle by Louis Sachar ❌⚠️📉 A deeply flawed book that sabotages its own plot, resulting in a disappointing and unsatisfying reading experience. You can spend your time reading far better books or reply & tell me I am wrong. #bookreview c2lem.com/books/Magici...

🧠⏳ Book Review ⏳🧠 Dissolution by Nicholas Binge 🧓💊🌀🕰️ (memory, sci-fi tech, time loops, thriller) A twisty, high-concept thriller about memory, love, and time, with inventive sci-fi devices and a satisfying, surprising resolution. #bookreview c2lem.com/books/Dissol...

#booksky #litrpg I am more than an hour into "He Who Fights With Monsters", which Amazon seems to be positioning as a successor to Dungeon Crawler Carl, yet so far, not a whiff of anything funny. What gives? How much runway does this story need? At least it was free....

Today I start reading The Count of Monte Cristo. I will read chapters 1 and 2. This per the original serialization of the novel. #bookclub

Just read Nine Princes in Amber. In someways totally cornball and definitely not pc, but on the other hand has some great plot devices. Fun book and not Sanderson (yes i went there) It still stands up after 55 years. 📚✨ #booktok

An AI-inhabited (“haunted”) house sits in the high California desert and contains the preserved corpse of its famous architect and owner; the architect’s will permits only one person, the house’s archivist, to visit the mausoleum/house for a total of five days each year; this is Rose/House.

Saw this at Costco thought it would be good. It was not good. Do not buy.

The 13-yo gave me this 3-inch iron skillet (mocking my many skillet-seasoning experiments re:flax oil v bacon grease.) What do I do w/ this thing now besides cherish it for her thoughtfulness (and I hope-sume thriftiness in buying from Ross)? 😃🤔

📚🪐Started audio of The Way of Kings last week & 1 of the readers sounded like Charleston Heston (bad). I would cringe when he said, "Storm you!!!" I am about 20% through and I will switch over to reading the book to give it a chance, but right now it gives me "Thundarr the Barbarian" vibes. 😐

I’m trying my first Brandon Sanderson novel (audio) after years of knee jerk resistance. I guess I’ll see what all the fuss is about. After a couple days, I’m just getting some traction.

I hate this book. Yes, it’s part of the literary canon. Yes it’s by inspired Many movies which makes it important. Yes I know Mary S was very young when she wrote it to a much different audience. Nonetheless, it sucked. 💙📚🪐
