agree. things like the superman black hair was a miss. letting brodie job him out in their first match was a huge hit. taking himself out of the world title picture was a disaster. he’s better suited for the Fed’s system, but besides the wacky ideas he was very instrumental/helpful to the biz imo.

I really don't mean this as an insult, and as a Day 1 AEW fan I am thankful for Cody and Brandy's contributions to AEW, BUT...I am kind of thankful Cody isn't in AEW anymore. Creatively speaking.

it is wild to me to see people like that who are disingenuous at best or completely ignorant of the world around them at worst. the stuff they claim isn't an AEW thing, a WWE thing, or even a wrestling thing, it's a carny industry thing. they need to read a book, make friends, touch grass.

I'm excited to see them in the Owen. Surprised. I hope it goes well. But my main point is Stardom can send their stars to MLW and get booked like stars in front of American audiences. Great experience and expands the brand. Big fish in a small pond. Trying to get on AEW tv is different.

Where is Riho? Why did it take Toni leaving to bring Shida back? where are their women wrestlers on AEW tv anyways? he all but admitted he has less tv opportunity for them in AEW I would love to see Stardom and TJPW talent excel in AEW and hope for better/more. But I understand the MLW deal.

I would love all that, but also she got booked well with Athena on a New Japan show, not an AEW show. Ultimately I had high hopes for Syuri to do stuff in AEW and it was a disappointment, whatever the reasons. I just don't see a lot of consistent opportunity for Stardom talent to shine on AEW TV

my impression and memory was the elbow was bad beforehand, which was part of the reason for the Stardom break. it seemed like lackluster AEW booking/plans led her to just get surgery and go back home. It could have been AEW had bigger plans for her, but their doctors wanted that elbow fixed.

it was my understanding she got signed to work AEW in addition to Stardom, one of those dual contracts. also I thought her elbow was hurt before she got to AEW, and she tried to rest it. Her Casino Gauntlet participation was pretty meh. Her overall AEW presentation was very meh to me.
