I'm always curious when broadcasters say a non-managing coach is "great" or "doing a great job:" How would they know? It just came up regarding Matt Erickson. I've known Matty for a long time and I wouldn't be surprised if he is a great third base coach, but what objective measure supports that?

MLB app specifically highlighted that Civale and El Gary were teammates in 2024 with the Brewers and that seemed like a weird thing to note, but then I realized how few 2024 Brewers are still around.
