I think it’s a bad idea for Lula to skip the debates. Right now, Lula has Bolsonaro on the defensive & could land some blows. If he skips the debate then he will have to defend that decision. Better to step in ring take some punches & land a few blows

What's happening in Brazil right now is that evangelicals have let it slip that they hold Catholics in the same contempt they hold Muslims, Jews, the LGBTQ community, etc. Evangelicals in America feel the same way but are normally smart enough to hide this for political reasons.
