Sounds like its outed him too. With HR and terfs in office threatening him with dismissal no matter what he does
[-] Dijstraanon [S] 119 points 15 hours ago
The biggest issue now is that he's been outed. HR knew and now the whole firm knows. He followed the instructions and used the 'right' toilet, then the women complained, then it was explained to them that it was policy. Now he's in a place with a bunch of homophobes (women), his local male team are happy with him using the men's toilet but HR have told him that he'll face a disciplinary if he does.

You could end up being deported to Australia for it
Parliament passed the Treason Felony Act in 1848. This act made advocacy of republicanism punishable by transportation to Australia, which was later amended to life imprisonment. The law is still on the statute books; however in a 2003 case, the Law Lords stated that "It is plain as a pike staff to the respondents and everyone else that no one who advocates the peaceful abolition of the monarchy and its replacement by a republican form of government is at any risk of prosecution", for the reason that the Human Rights Act 1998 would require the 1848 Act to be interpreted in such a way as to render such conduct non-criminal.

TIL there was a British revolutionary flag that was made after French Revolution
Revolutionary republicanism, 1800-1848
The British republican flag, which originated in 1816, in use until at least 1935[19]
The English Republican Tricolour proposed by Hugh Williams and described in WJ "Spartacus" Linton's 1851
poem "Our Tricolour"
From the start of the French Revolution into the early 19th century, the revolutionary blue-white-red tricolour was used throughout England, Wales and Ireland in defiance of the royal establishment.
During the 1816 Spa Fields riots, a green, white and red horizontal flag appeared for the first time, soon followed by a red, white and green horizontal version allegedly in use during the 1817 Pentrich rising and the 1819 Peterloo massacre. The latter is now

How London could of had a sewer system sooner and saved lives until a big stinky crisis forced parliament to spend what they said was too much. Sums up politics that nothing gets dome unless there’s a crisis or disaster. Its all reactive
bacterium Vibrio cholerae. Although the contamination of the water supply was correctly diagnosed by Dr John Snow in 1849 as the method of communication, up to the outbreak of 1866 it was believed that miasma, or bad air, was responsible. 2] Proposals to modernise the sewerage system had been made in the early 1700s but the costs of such a project deterred progress. Further proposals followed in 1856, but were again neglected due to the costs. However, after the Great Stink of 1858, Parliament realised the urgency of the problem and resolved to create a modern sewerage system. [31

Song For The Luddites
As the Liberty lads o'er the sea
Bought their freedom, and cheaply, with blood,
So we, boys, we
Will die fighting, or live free,
And down with all kings but King Ludd!
Il.
When the web that we weave is complete, And the shuttle exchanged for the sword, We will fling the winding sheet O'er the despot at our feet,
And dye it deep in the gore he has pourd.
Ill.
Though black as his heart its hue, Since his veins are corrupted to mud,
Yet this is the dew
Which the tree shall renew
Of Liberty, planted by Ludd!
December 1816.

Looking up Christopher Marlowe and found his ‘was he gay’ wiki section and the ‘has long puzzled scholars.’ part gave me a laugh
looks were all that men desire...
"[49] [50] Edward the
Second contains the following passage enumerating homosexual relationships:
The mightiest kings have had their minions;
Great Alexander loved Hephaestion, The conquering Hercules for Hylas wept;
And for Patroclus, stern Achilles drooped.
And not kings only, but the wisest men:
The Roman Tully loved Octavius, Grave Socrates, wild Alcibiades. 51]
Marlowe wrote the only play about the life of Edward II up to his time, taking the humanist literary discussion of male sexuality much further than his contemporaries. The play was extremely bold, dealing with a star-crossed love story between Edward II and Piers Gaveston. Though it was a common practice at the time to reveal characters as homosexual to give audiences reason to suspect them as culprits in a crime, Christopher Marlowe's Edward Il is portrayed as a sympathetic character, (52) The decision to start the play Dido, Queen of Carthage with a homoerotic scene between Jupiter and Ganymede that bears no connection to the subsequent plot has long puzzled scholars. Diary entry. I think still in her early twenties but years since the tragedy and her feelings
Journal, October 26.-Time rolls on, and what does it bring?
What can I do? How change my destiny? Months change their names, years their cyphers. My brow is sadly trenched,
the
blossom of youth faded. My mind gathers wrinkles. What will become of me?
How long it is since an emotion of joy filled my once exulting heart, or beamed from my once bright eyes. I am young still, though age creeps on apace; but I may not love any but the dead.
I think that an emotion of joy would destroy me, so strange would it be to my withered heart. Shelley had said-
Lift not the painted veil which men call life.
Mine is not painted; dark and enshadowed, it curtains out all happiness, all hope. Tears fill my eyes; well may I weep, solitary girl! The dead know you not; the living heed you not. You sit in your lone room, and the howling wind, gloomy prognostic of winter, gives not forth so despairing a tone as the unheard sighs your ill-fated heart breathes.
I was loved once! still let me cling to the memory; but to live for oneself alone, to read, and communicate your reflections to none; to write, and be cheered by none; to weep, and in no bosom; no more on thy bosom, my Shelley, to spend my tears-
-this is
misery!
Such is the Alpha and Omega of my tale. I can speak to none.
Writing this is useless; it does not even soothe me; on the contrary, it irritates me by showing the pitiful expedient to which I am reduced.
I have been a year in England, and, ungentle England, for what have I to thank you? For disappointment, melancholy, and tears; for unkindness, a bleeding heart, and despairing thoughts. I wish, England, to associate but one idea with theeimmeasurable distance and insurmountable barriers, so that I never, never might breathe thine air more.
Beloved Italy! you are my country, my hope, my heaven!

When they were missing. Later she would sometimes describe the ocean too as her husband’s murderer. Or Italy as a murderess.
I cannot describe to you what I felt in the first moment when, fording this river, I felt the water splash about our wheels. I was suffocated-| gasped for breath-I thought I should have gone into convulsions, and I struggled violently that Jane might not perceive it. Looking down the river I saw the two great lights burning at the foce; a voice from within me seemed to cry aloud, "That is his grave." After passing the river I gradually recovered. Arriving at Lerici we were obliged to cross our little bay in a boat. San Terenzo was illuminated for a festa. What a scene! The waving sea, the sirocco wind, the lights of the town towards which we rowed, and our own desolate hearts, that coloured all with a shroud. We landed. Nothing had been heard of them. This was Saturday, July 13, and thus we waited until Thursday July 18, thrown about by hope and fear. We sent messengers along the coast towards Genoa and to Via Reggio; nothing had been found more than the Lancetta; reports were brought us; we hoped; and yet to tell you all the agony we endured during those twelve days, would be to make you conceive a universe of pain-each moment intolerable, and giving place to one still worse.

Asked by other members of parliament to specify what that meant exactly, Tillschneider said, "Anti-German art is German art that doesn't want to be German." He mentioned as an example an opera production he had seen some years ago; the classical German composer's work was revisited through a "feminist deconstructivist" lens that didn't please him and corresponds to what he sees as "anti-German art."

Percy Shelleys ‘too early to judge’ views on America nailed the current collapse of US democracy
And as to America, I remember an observation of his, "that it was easier to form than unform or reform, and that even the United States were too young for us to judge of their duration; that the President had more power than the head of a constitutional government ought to have; a power too dangerous, —a wider field for corruption;" and Shelley hated slavery too sincerely in all its forms, not. to reprobate the existence of that crying evil, a disgrace to humanity, and the eighteenth century.

I do love Mary Shelleys use of ‘fellow creatures’ when talking about Percy Shelley’s Queen Mab en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_M...
notes to the work, Mary Shelley explains the author's goals:
He was animated to greater zeal by compassion for his fellow-creatures. His sympathy was excited by the misery with which the world is bursting. He witnessed the sufferings of the poor, and was aware of the evils of ignorance. He desired to induce every rich man to despoil himself of superfluity, and to create a brotherhood of property and service, and was ready to be the first to lay down the advantages of his birth. He was of too uncompromising a disposition to join any party. He did not in his youth look forward to gradual improvement: nay, in those days of intolerance, now almost forgotten, it seemed as easy to look forward to the sort of millennium of freedom and brotherhood, which he thought the proper state of mankind, as to the present reign of moderation and improvement. Ill health made him believe that his race would soon be run; that a year or two was all he had of life. He desired that these years should be useful and illustrious. He saw, in a fervent call on his fellow-creatures to share alike the blessings of the creation, to love and serve each other, the noblest work that life and time permitted him. In this spirit he composed Queen Mab.

You know what as arsenal fan…Ive never had any bad to say about rooney no sir…
ftbdoor Wayne Rooney: "Arsenal have been robbed tonight"
"I'll be completely honest, Arsenal were absolutely robbed tonight, there is no other way to put it. You look at that foul on Noni Madueke in the box; it's a stonewall, 100% clear penalty. How the referee or VAR hasn't given that is beyond me, and it completely changes the dynamic of a Champions League final.
But for me, the moment that truly gave it away the moment you knew exactly what the referee was doing was that halftime whistle. To blow the whistle right as Arsenal are literally standing there about to take a corner? I've played this game a long time, and you rarely see that unless there's a blatant bias. It was shocking, and it set the tone for everything that followed.
In the second half, it became a totally different game, and not because of the football. The referee made absolutely sure that every single 50/50 call, every little nudge, and every major decision went straight to PSG. It completely killed Arsenal's momentum. But to be fair, I'm not even surprised. We saw the exact same story when they played Bayern Munich earlier in the tournament.
The officiating was heavily skewed then, and it's happened again on the biggest stage.
PSG might be lifting the trophy, but they cannot honestly look at themselves in the mirror and be proud of the way they've won this final. To win the biggest prize in club football like that? It leaves a horrible taste. Arsenal deserved so much more tonight."

Great section about role of art in our lives
Creative Form and the Nature of Language 121
language uses, the signifiers are so familiar and habitual that we no longer take notice of them. Worse still, everyday language becomes a series of cliches which never require us to think about the ideas they convey, or really look at the state of affairs in the world they refer to. As Viktor Shklovsky puts it, 'as perception becomes habitual, it becomes automatic'.?' The role of art in general is to remove this veil of familiarity, to re-alert us to the objects, ideas and events which no longer make an impression: art exists that one may recover the sensation of life; it exists to make one feel things, to make the stone stony'

On 9 October 2001, " Pratima Gaonkar, a young Indian intersex athlete and swimmer, was found dead in a well in Goa. The cause was identified as death by suicide; this was in turn caused by Gaonkar's reaction to the disclosure and public commentary surrounding a failed sex verification test.

I know very little on it’s history. Shocked and not surprised to discover France, US, UK trained Brazils dictatorship in how to murder and torture pro democracy and left wing victims of regime
While other dictatorships in the region at the time killed more people, Brazil saw the widespread use of torture, as it also had during the Estado Novo of Getúlio Vargas. Vargas's enforcer Filinto Müller has been named the "patron of torturers" in Brazil. 64] Advisors from the United States and United Kingdom trained Brazilian forces in interrogation and torture.
[65] To extinguish its left-wing opponents, the dictatorship used arbitrary arrests, imprisonment without trials, kidnapping, and most of all, torture, which included rape and castration. The book Torture in Brazil provides accounts of only a fraction of the atrocities committed by the government. 66]
The military government murdered hundreds of others, although this was done mostly in secret and the cause of death often falsely reported as accidental. The government occasionally dismembered and hid the bodies. 67] French general Paul Aussaresses, a veteran of the Algerian War, came to Brazil in 1973. Aussaresses used "counter-revolutionary warfare" methods during the Battle of Algiers, including the systemic use of torture, executions and death flights. He later trained U.S. officers and taught military courses for Brazil's military intelligence. He later acknowledged maintaining close links with the military. 68]

The billionaires considered using special combination locks on the food supply that only they knew. Or making guards wear disciplinary collars of some kind in return for their survival. Or maybe building robots to serve as guards and workers - if that technology could be developed "in time".

After King Charles II retook the English throne in 1660, he needed to find something to occupy the time of his brother James, the Duke of York. So, Charles put James in charge of the Navy.In December, 1660, James launched the first expedition of the Company of Royal Adventurers of England Trading into Africa, to search for gold mines. The Adventurers found no gold. Instead, they returned to the Duke with a business case for entering-and mastering-the transatlantic slave trade. What became known as the Royal African Company, governed by James for nearly a decade, would go on to traffick more men, women, and children in the transatlantic slave trade than any other institution. This is a fact the Crown would prefer to distance itself from.
