The location of that large boulder incident was on CO-145 near Lizard Head Pass, used in the main road stage of the old Telluride Stage Race.

I had a middle school bus driver who wasn't allowed to use the bus loop for drop off because he kept hitting the fence. He had to pull up off to the side.

Happy Caturday. This is Maddie who is sweet as can be but also likes to assert a bit of top cat authority from time to time. She and her sister turn ten years old this month. Photos: @lisafw.bsky.social

A Lynx-Point Tabby cat sits on the bottom railing post of an indoor stairway as if guarding the passage, despite her non-fearsome appearance.

A Lynx_Point Tabby cat sits on top of a tall book case next to a vase as if she is part of the decor. It must have been a long and precarious leap to get where she is.

I was once in a race on a twisty circuit while a penny-farthing group was racing at the same time. There were about five of them and we lapped them several times. The lines they took through the turns were unusual and w/ the speed difference was tricky to navigate around them but what a cool memory.

In the heyday of blood doping, it was common to get a saline IV in the morning to get hematocrit under 50%. A surprise pre-morning test counters that. I believe the 50% rule is still in effect, but the biological passport complicate things for would be blood dopers, so not sure this still applies.

The Tour of Austria has been very good the last several days. It gets even better if you pretend that the Austrian announcers are Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd doing a Wild and Crazy Guys skit.

I'm an old white guy, but also a blues guitarist and when I saw the movie my main interest was to figure out how to play the song Travelin'. It's credited to one of my favorite artists, Alvin Youngblood Hart. It turns out that they only wrote one verse to the song so I wrote a bunch of my own.

I can empathize with him letting his hands get knocked off the bars when he least expected. I've done that twice, broke a hip the first time, three ribs and Christmas Eve in the ICU with internal bleeding the second time.

It looked to me like Evenepoel wasn't sure which way to go at the roundabout, braked, Vingegaard hit his rear wheel (not his fault) sending Evenepoel down. Vingegaard somehow kept it upright after a big wobble but then lost all momentum and power after the major scare.

Two Triolians built 92 years apart. Both guitars came to me by separate trades. A 1929 National wood body Triolian on the left and a 2021 National Reso-Phonic steel body Triolian on the right. Both play great and have very similar V-neck profiles. Kudos to NRP for the accurate reproduction. #guitar

Two very similar Resophonic guitars hang on a wall. Closer examination reveals that one has a wood body and the other steel. The wood bodied guitar is much older and has heavy play wear especially where strumming has stripped pain from the steel cover plate and dug a groove into the wood body. The steel guitar is in mint condition.

I've worked on some John Hurt songs in standard tuning, but I mostly stick to Open D (and G) fingerstyle with slide. Mitchell has a reputation for playing in all sorts of open tunings but I haven't explored that. Travis picking is what I aspire to.

Favorite guitars are 2 Nationals ('29 wood Triolian and '33 Duolian. A '34 Gibson L-50 archtop, and a '33 Martin O-17. Four 60's era thinline electrics I like, a Harmony Rocket (gold foil), Kay Galaxie , and two Gibsons, an ES-120T and ES-225T w/ Loller gold foil. Also strat. I'm a single coil guy.
