Throw your automated weather apps in the trash about next week. Current takeaways: Denver: Looks much cooler with rain chances mainly mid-late week. Colder solutions could have us flirt with 1st freeze, maybe snow. Mountains: Multiple precip waves + much cooler, high elevation snow likely (10k+).

Still a very unclear look to next week depending on the cooler trough interaction with (or without) Rachel's remnants. But: It looks much cooler in Denver (highs prob in the 60s, maybe 50s), and best Denver/eastern Colorado rain chances probably mid-late next week. #COwx

Denver (DIA) tied the record high again today at 87° so far. Back-to-back record highs tied, 14th record high tied/broken so far this year in Denver. Still time to potentially break the record. #COwx

Looks like Fort Collins (CSU) hit 90° again, smashing the old daily record of 85°. That's also a new latest 90°+ on record for the 2nd-straight day. #COwx

Denver's average first freeze is tomorrow, but we'll certainly have a later-than-average one for the 6th-straight year. But a chance we get there in the 8-14 day window, with a notable cooldown next week. Probably not long now. #COwx

So Fort Collins had its latest 90°+ yesterday by more than a week (old record: 9/28/2011), after its earliest 90°+ by more than a month back in March (3/21, old record 5/5/2000). #COwx

🌡️ Another day, another October scorcher: It'll be a touch 'cooler' than yesterday with highs in the mid-80s in Denver, near the record high of 87 (2020) with a few clouds. 🌤️ Slight chance for a shower tomorrow, and highs in the low 80s through the start of the weekend. #COwx

Your automated weather apps are probably showing a big Denver/Colorado cooldown next week, but take it with a grain of salt. Another tricky setup, with remnants of what's now Hurricane Rachel in the EPac potentially messing with the pattern/timing. Still: Looks cooler, wetter next week. #COwx

Record high tied: Denver's up to 87° so far today, tying the daily record from 2024. It's also Denver's 13th daily record high tied or broken so far this year. Still time to break the record... #COwx

Since July 1, a pocket of the northwest Denver metro area/Boulder has almost entirely missed out on rain. A combo of monsoon rain patterns + sheer, dumb luck = a corridor from Longmont to Westminster to Boulder has barely had a quarter of their typical rain since July 1. #COwx

🌡️ Record heat likely today: Another mostly sunny and hot day, with a high in the upper 80s in Denver (record: 87°, 2024). 🌤️ A bit cooler tomorrow (still mid-80s) and staying hot in the 80s all week. No good rain chances in the Denver area until at least this weekend. #COwx

🌤️ Mostly sunny and a tad cooler than yesterday, with a high in the low 80s in Denver. Light winds and more sun than clouds, with a bit of an afternoon breeze (10-20 mph). 🌡️ Near-record heat tomorrow with a high in the mid-upper 80s before a slight cooldown Tuesday. #COwx

Broncos forecast kickoff temp on Sunday at the 49ers is 92°, which would make it a top-5 hottest Bronco game on record, home or away.

🌤️ After a cool start, it’ll be sunny, dry, and warmer, with high near 80° in Denver (average: 72°, record: 89°). Light winds with only a 10-15 mph afternoon breeze. 🌡️ Even warmer tomorrow and Sunday, with no meaningful Denver area rain chances over the next 5-7 days. #COwx

Not (necessarily) climate change: it’s gonna be 80°+ in Denver this weekend. Climate change: This was Denver’s 4th-hottest September on record after our 4th-hottest August after our 2nd-hottest July after our hottest March after our 3rd-hottest February after our 2nd-hottest December. #COwx

Some improvement on this week’s drought monitor across mainly southern Colorado. Severe or worst drought % statewide at 58%, down from 80% just 3 months ago. Data below is only through Tues AM, so expect more improvements across southern and eastern Colorado next week. Overall good news.

Very beneficial 3-day rainfall rainfall totals in the highlighted region below. 2-4”+ for a big swath of southern and eastern Colorado. No doubt a huge disappointment for northeastern Colorado though, where we were basically shut out. #COwx

Even with today's rain bust, this'll still finish Denver's rainiest September (2.22") since 2013 and wettest overall month in over a year (Aug. 2025). Will likely finish as Denver's 2nd-warmest September on record as well, though it'll depend on today's exact temps. #COwx

If you're wondering why Denver mostly missed out on today's rain...tropical low associated with Polo's remnants visible over NM, but spot the secondary low over western Kansas also. Storms haven't fully merged, and Polo's remnants appear to be taking due easterly path. #COwx

After today's cloudy/wet weather, it looks pretty bone dry for Denver and most of Colorado for the next 10-14 days. Weak system next Tue-Wed could bring a few showers, otherwise...above-avg temps (upper 70s/80s in Denver) and dry weather dominates. #COwx

Woof, 12z Euro with a big tumble in rain totals and another jog south. Euro solution shows Polo's remnants not really creating much of a reaction from the main low. Denver rain lovers aren't going to love this trend. Still, big rain for SE Colorado on tap. #COwx

Timing: Heaviest rain moves into southern Colorado overnight tonight. Denver area may start dry tomorrow morning, steadiest/heaviest rain tomorrow afternoon/night. May linger into early Thu AM. Again: Denver area rain totals are the biggest question right now. #COwx

For many, this week's rain will be very good news, but for others, it'll be too much of a good thing. Aspen Acres burn scar, southeastern Colorado, and Douglas/Elbert Counties are my highest flood concern zones. #COwx

Flood threat remains for southeastern Colorado in particular, along a substantial drought-denting/busting rain for much of the state. 1”+ of Denver rain still on the table tomorrow, and still overall a significant rain event.

Chris Bianchi @bianchiweather.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
☁️ Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance for showers today, rain will be light for most. A bit cooler, highs likely stuck in the upper 60s. 🌧️ A near-washout tomorrow with a flood risk, especially for the south metro area, and even cooler with highs in the mid-60s. #COwx
0263
Chris Bianchi @bianchiweather.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Hope here is most of eastern Colorado can thread the needle of getting a really beneficial rain without major flooding. 2-4" of rain with a minimal convective (storm) element is that rough sweet spot. #COwx
0342
Chris Bianchi @bianchiweather.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Red-shaded zones on the maps below will have the highest flood risk tomorrow and Wednesday. For the Denver area: south metro area will have the highest flood risk, 2-3"+ possible. Low will probably need to nudge north for Denver proper to be in the main flood risk. #COwx
