A while ago, someone requested react-resizable-panels support 2d "grid" layouts. I'm working on a new set of grid+cell components to support this, with a similar API (in terms of constraints and separator styling at least) github.com/bvaughn/reac...

Thanks Google. Great idea to push it so heavily btw

Another funny thing about this update is that after 15 minutes showing "1 of 1" it changed to "x of 8"

I'm not going months between opening the app. I use it a couple of times a week. I should be able to chat with a friend while it downloads its update in the background. Not everyone is on broadband all of the time. They should try using their own app from the @amtrak.com WiFi once in a while.

The circular nonsense you get when interacting with Google's "AI Mode" search is frustrating and weirdly bad considering how strongly they are pushing this stuff.

I can’t believeI see this sign on real life and not on some parody show. It’s comically sleazy.

The character swap in the 2nd panel of this poster kind of changes the meaning. It becomes a story about a child who chokes and dies while his parents look on sadly 🙃

What even is this AI company’s logo? Was it also generated with AI? Why does it look like a ball of spaghetti? Everything about this is awful.

This sort of thing is unhinged. Scalpers and squatters are among the worst of us, I think.

Seems like a crazy up-tick in weekly downloads for react-resizable-panels. All of my other packages have been ticking up more or less linearly. I wonder what happened here?

This is my cover art for the upcoming Pilotless Drone album. Feedback welcome! The map is an area we (band members) used to live and perform, though I heavily edited it in Photoshop. I've stuck with the overlapped letters "p" and "d" for the past three albums, so they're prominent again.

The fall of Facebook Marketplace continues to blow my mind. My latest attempt selling a "faux-leather IKEA sofa" has been rejected by their AI because it "promotes the sale of animals".

Built ani in-browser site search for a few of my OSS projects this afternoon. Didn't want to pay someone to host this because the amount of data is small, so I just opted to create an index when building the site and lazy-load it on demand. Dunno how much it will get used but I like the UX.

I had no idea react-resizable-panels was used by so many other projects. What a neat little feature.

Chrome's recently-added "open in split view" context menu option irks me. Seems crazy to just change something that conflicts with such a long-established muscle memory action. Brave's decision to move it lower in the list is so much better. github.com/brave/brave-...

I'm helping my nephew (who lives in Virginia) search for a laptop, and I ended up on Walmart's website and saw this bizarre modal. What do cookies have to do with health information when in the context of a retail site like Walmart? Unless maybe I was purchasing medicine... but still

I was a bit surprised by these usage numbers. I guess versions 3 and 4 haven't been out that long (9 months and 2 months respectively)

I took three weeks off in December because I'd banked a bunch of PTO and I was feeling exhausted. I remember feeling vaguely uneasy at the prospect of having so much unstructured time. Then I filled it all with work, apparently. Honestly, I don't think I even remember how to relax.

I'm guessing only 1% of people actually care about this feature, but I'm proud of the UX polish in v4 around fixed-size panels. react-resizable-panels.vercel.app/examples/fix...

GitHub issues can really be something 🤪
Screenshot of a GitHub issue comment thread.

Brian says: "Honestly I can't tell much at all from the video you shared above, nor from the very incomplete source code. And when performance profiling, it's never a good idea to compare prod to dev.

The other user responds: "genius observation, you don’t need more info, you just need to flex your hot take muscles"
