If you're not starting this Tuesday covered in #cats, you're doing it wrong. 3 out of 5 on me in my recliner. A slap fight started pretty quickly. Here we have #Riker #Moogie and #Buddy. #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky

A silver and black Scottish straight is sniffing the neck of a small black cat with a white chest. Behind them is a large ginger cat. They're sprawled left to right across me and my recliner.
The glass door to the main deck is to the left, and there is a staircase in the background.

Happy #Caturday from #Moogie, our forever kitten. She will be one next month and she is maybe 6 whole pounds. Tiny but mighty. #cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #StarTrek

A tiny black cat with a white chest is peeking out from a white cotton blanket, pooled by the bed on the floor. She's on a gray rug on a wood floor

I missed #BlackCatAppreciationDay yesterday. Late but not forgotten. After losing my 3 year old boy Dougal to heart failure last Oct, I was gutted.2 weeks after that, my friend showed up at my door with a sickly black #rescue kitten, saved from a barn. #Moogie stitched us all back together.

An impossibly small, incredibly fierce black kitten lying on top of her orange and white brother, who thinks he's her mother, nipples and all. Bwahahaa.
They're squished onto my desk next to my Hello Kitty keyboard. Behind them are the Lego Lucky cat I got from my daughter for Mother's day, my magic 8-ball and a huge coffee mug full of pens.

The simplest, most delicious summer #dessert --the ice box cake. Since Nabisco discontinued their classic chocolate wafer cookies, I use split open oreo thins. It's just layers of freshly whipped cream, and oreo thins. You let it sit for at least 8 hours in the fridge. Tastes like decadent cake.

A small, white, square ice box plate covered in crushed oreo thins sits on a plate on a counter top.

Still firmly believing #Sisko is her Mummy, #Moogie will find him anywhere and climb aboard. #cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #StarTrek

A large orange and white Scottish straight is lying on a wooden desk next a pink Hello Kitty keyboard. He is too big for the space and spilling out on all over. On top of him is a 6 pound black rescue kitten who believes he's her Mummy.

My cherry #tomatoes are finally turning red! I got a late start, but started from seeds indoors with a grow light. These are up in a tall raised bed on one of our decks. The tomatoes hang right over deck rail. #containergarden #garden

A couple of super sweet 100 cherry tomatoes turning red. The picture is a chaotic jumble of green tomato plants and tomatoes against an almost autumnal blue sky.

#Fergus demonstrating why I have to cover my #jigsaw puzzles. He is a very dramatic fellow. #cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #ScottishFold

Fergus, a dilute cameo Scottish Fold cat is lying on my temporary jigsaw puzzle table. He has his head hanging off the edge of the rotating puzzle table. On the card table below. He is pretend closing his eyes, enjoying his attention furtively.

A picture of the Milkweed that grows wild on our front yard. There is not a smell so sweetly thick and fragrant as Milkweed in bloom.

#Sisko taking up most of my desk. Still preferable to most human co-workers. #Cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #StarTrek

A large orange and white Scottish straight is draped across my desk and keyboard. His name is Sisko, and he's far more Jeff Spicolli than The Emmisary he was named for.

#finches look like Muppets. I'm having an amazing #bird day. #Oriole #Birdsky ##BirdsOfBlueSky The Orioles stay all summer where the citrus is fresh and the bird jelly delish.

A purple finch, which is more pinkish than purple to me, and a bright yellow American goldfinch are perched atop our empty feeder pole. With the crazy head feathers on the purple finch, and that face on the goldfinch, they look just like Muppets.

A regular at our citrus feeder, Machine Gun Kelly. He is a vibrant orange with black wings tipped with white.Orioles are funny birds. Pretty sure they bitch me out regularly.

We were given this resilient little #rescue girl last Halloween. #Moogie 's first 3 months were rough. She was born a feral barn cat. Today is finally her #spay. Good thoughts welcome. I lost a cat to routine neuter in 2004. Hard to get over that, mentally. #Cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #StarTrek

A very small black and white Tuxedo kitten hamming it up for the camera. She's on a gray and white floral rug. Her little white tipped paws are in front of her.

Out of plastic bags, but hubby knows I'm batshit and don't want foil touching my sammich. Parchment paper, and my amazing hubby for the win. #pbj #sandwich

My natural peanut butter and jelly sammich on sourdough. It is on a piece of parchment paper on top of a piece of aluminum foil.

My co-worker lacks boundaries. But, I love him anyway. He was appropriately named. #Riker #cats #StarTrek #StarTrekCats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky

In the manner of the great Will Riker, his silver, black and white feline namesake is lying very forcefully on my desk. He cares not that he's lying on my notebook, wedged in next to pink Hello Kitty keyboard with that leg cocked just so.
Behind him is my pen jar, the Mother's Day Lego lucky cat I got last year, and a tiny rubber duck/cat

Every once in a while I check my sobriety app to see how long it has been. I decided in 2023 to do #sober October. Whelp, it's been a long October. I can honestly say I don't miss it a bit. Almost drank when Kamala lost, but I kept the train on the tracks. #CaliSober #alcoholfree

You'd think we asked #Fergus to assemble the chair in the box. Always bringing the drama and existential dread to #Caturday. 😹 #Cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #Outlander

Fergus, our dilute cameo Scottish Fold is lying on his back on a huge box with an arm chair inside. The chair needs to be assembled and Fergus's body language is so dramatic, almost as though he has to sprout thumbs and build it.

From feral #rescue #kitten to this sweet, purring cuddle-muffin who wants all the pets. It's been an investment of time and money, but one of the most rewarding things ever. Love my #Moogie Moo. #cats #CatsofBlueSky #CatSky #StarTrek ##StarTrekDS9

My eyes popped when I saw that stash! 😍 I've just started knitting again after many years. I keep my active projects in this retro bag from my late Mum. The bin holds my #yarn, needles and patterns

One of my late Mom's yard sale scores. A southwest style print knitting bag with wooden handles. Colors are brown, orange, beige and off white.

A plastic bin in my home office that is 3/4 full of yarn, knitting needles and patterns.

#Sisko and #Moogie. He's still playing a very active maternal role. They're so cute together. #CatSky #CatsofBlueSky #Cats #StarTrek #DS9

Sisko, the large orange and white straight eared Scottish fold is cuddling Moogie, a small black rescue kitten. She nurses on him, unless he says no, then she sucks one of his toe beans. They're sleeping on our king sized bed, which is covered in a cat quilt that was made for us. Riker the silver and black straight eared fold is asleep in the background.

A fast side project. Made a pink one for my daughter for Christmas, and wanted one for myself. Knits fast and flat, then sewn side seams. Happy with how it came out. #knitting #KnitSky

A green knitted hat. It's knitted flat, but when you wear it, the top makes little points that look like cat ears.

A green knit hat is on my head. The top forms two little points that resemble cat ears. In the background is my office space, including a China cabinet full of Star Trek collectibles.

My biggest project yet. I'm #knitting myself a cardigan from some really nice Peruvian #wool Donegal #tweed blend wool. I'm pretty proud of my increases. #yarn #KnitSky

One of the increase sections of the green wool sweater I'm knitting.
Increases used to confound me and I would have holes.
