Average care home resident costs £1700 per week at a private care home. Av care home has 60 beds. At 80% occ thats £5.3m a year. Staff on low at ave 30k per year which is 80 staff leaving £2.5m for facilities. Most homes have half that staff and poor facilities. Where does the money go?
