I don't think y'all realize what's happening at the House of Commons Health Committee.
Dear Members of the Standing Committee on Health: My name is Leighton Grey. I am an Alberta Constitutional lawyer and Christian podcaster. I am also a Status Indian.Because NHPs are more than ultra-safe, it is questionable that the NHP Regulations are constitutional.

Honestly the school board candidates seem pretty great, well except the guy explicitly telling you not to vote for him. Take his advice.
Michael Baumann wants you to vote for someone else for school board. Listen to him.

Looking nationally, here's our comparison by province, from our NB report. Ontario was doing significantly better by 2022 (our latest report). All reports here. www.bchumanist.ca/saguenay
Interprovincial comparison of indigenous content in inaugural municipal council meetings.

I think they were starting to take off in BC beforehand. But it definitely spread nationally after that. Eg from our own studies of municipal prayer practices, BC has gone from 2/5 cities opening inaugural meetings with LAs to >70% between 2018-22. www.bchumanist.ca/we_yelled_at...
Quote from "We yelled at them till they stopped" showing indigenous content rose from 39% in 2018 inaugural meetings to 72% in 2022.

There's honestly a good chance the BC Conservatives do significantly better without any leader. Because then voters mad at the government (and there's plenty of them) can put all their own hopes and dreams into that vacant shell.

Incredible parallel (though I don't think the NDP saw a third of its caucus leave and the chaos we see today) That timeline, April to September is still a month longer than Findlay

Incredible. Now if Eby doesn't call the election, there's a chance she wins her byelection and joins a caucus she no longer leads.

Also a quick demo that the traditional political compass for Vancouver is kinda pointless as all the parties fall along a left-right spectrum (at least as respondents see them). Hence why we reoriented this axis against the urbanism one. I didn't label these but you can figure it out pretty quickly
Vancouver parties against the traditional social/economic political compass form a perfect linear regression.

n=52 Changed the axis around, made the gridlines a bit clearer too. As a reminder: This is reflection of popular sentiment and not actually an objective analysis of where each party sits.

Here's where we stand with just under 50 submissions. Disagree with the placement? Add your votes.
A dark mode plot of Vancouver political parties on a chart of left/right vs urbanist axes.

Alone on the urbanist side is OneCity. COPE and Greens sit in the left-preservationist quadrant. Liberals, Vote Vancouver and BFV clump near the centre. ABC is in the preservationist right while Team and TrueBlue are in the extreme corner.

That mixed-use area that says non-residential first floor usage was only 1-2 blocks of high streets within each village though. If you compare to the deadzone that are the condos along the Cambie Corridor, this seems incredibly reasonable.

I really dislike that OneCity is leaning into the framing that upzoning "forces" anything to happen. Critique the Village Plan or the process, but nothing in the plan forced anyone to replace their home with a 6-storey mixed-use building. It merely permitted it, as Azaroff claims he wants to.
From William Azaroff, Mayoral candidate for OneCity, email: "OneCity has a real plan to fix Villages and get it done by April 2027. As Mayor and with our team of spectacular future OneCity Councillors, we will ensure communities are allowed to grow organically – not forced – withpermissive zoning, quarterly monitoring so we know where, when, and how to deliver critical community amenities, and a commitment to bringing neighbours along with real engagement, not shutting them out."

Extremely few are trailer friendly. Here's w counter examples (both Tesla). First in Hope there are pull thru BC Hydro Chargers and a couple Teslas you can pull alongside. The latter is Canmore where I got lucky to charge at the end of a bank of chargers (not 100% sure I was supposed to park there)
