I suppose you can make a contraflow bike lane on Washington for a block, go east on Watts for one block, then south on Greenwich. But then there would need to be a way for bikes to use the street since it’s a brick street

There needs to be a better way to get to WTC for us NJ people. 7th/Varick has a major bike lane gap near Canal St. Washington & Greenwich both change directions at Canal & there’s no safe way to connect from Washington to Hudson without going on Canal for a block.

I think I’ve discovered a nice alternative to 6th Ave. I ditched 6th for Sullivan and hardly encountered any cars all the way to Washington Sq Park

Someone illegally parked here at the intersection of Jersey/Columbus delay buses headed to Greenville, McGinley Sq and Bergen-Lafayette. Bus drivers can’t make a clean turn and drivers on NB Jersey need to back up and move to the right so the bus driver can maneuver past the illegally parked car.

Another interesting piece of bus infrastructure here on Vancouver Island. A bus stop on the highway that is for a park and ride. For the WB side, there is a little path that leads to a road under that highway to get to the park and ride. Very efficient .

How could these things keep happening?? Well take a look of a map of Camden County and you’re see NJ-style pseudo expressways which make it almost impossible to be able to do anything on foot because they put up these concrete dividers.

Checked out the progress for the Flatbush Ave centre running bus lanes. There’s really only two blocks and one “station” completed. Saw a very efficient use of them by an emergency vehicle. That should be a good enough argument for bus lanes.

There is also another bus stop in front of Asian Food Market at the Hudson Mall. I’m not sure which stop serves which service, but looks like maybe the JFK service stops here. This is about pricier .

Just realized there is intercity bus service from Jersey City to Boston and Philly via OurBus. They leave from the Newport Centre Mall. Might save you some time having to go into the city to get a bus to either place.

We had a crash today where a pedestrian was hit by a driver and this person is complaining about bikes

It’s not always the drivers, when I was a kid you had to look both ways before crossing and pay attention to traffic, the streets belonged to the cars, trucks and buses but nowadays these bike riders and scooters are out of control and people cross the street with their head down in their phones or headphones on so they can’t hear you honk your horn,, it’s ridiculo

I really hope the city will start ticketing vehicles illegally parked in bus stops. This vehicle is so big I had peak my head around it so I would be able to see if the bus is coming so I can flag it down so it doesn’t skip me.

That reminds me. They demolished and rebuilt this diner (dinor if you live in Erie 😭) in East Newark to facilitate this giant parking lot. East Newark is a very small municipality. This lot takes up a considerable amount of space in the borough.
