This hasn't happened to me in a while, but I got into reading the Old Czech translation/adaptation of the Trojan Chronicle because of one dictionary entry I am working on, and it's actually quite a good read! Maybe sometimes you can read a manuscript and actually have fun with the content 😅

We extended the application deadline for Winter School: HTR of Historical Sources to 15th September 2026. This year, all sessions will be virtual, and we have added several new languages! Check out our Indico website in the comments.

This is actually in a manuscript written by scribe in 1471, it has some biblical stories, a dream book, something about astrology. Then there is a story of a man who lived near Jičín, had three sons and wrote in the margins of this manuscript about his life. ❤️ (BRNO MZA, Inv. n. 412, fol. 318v)

There is a story to every manuscript - it's not just a text. This is an Old Czech Bible currently kept in Brno, dated to the end of the 15th century. The Odyssey (2026) was of course amazing, not that I had any doubt. However, the guy sitting next to me in the theatre complaining about "the lack of historical realism" the whole time could maybe just watch movies at home from now on, so he doesn't ruin any more cinematic experiences of others 🙃

A huge storm above Münich turned our flight from Cluj to Prague into quite an adventure. In the end, we caught our connecting flight in Münich just so... ... but my luggage didn't make it 😱 Hopefully it will get to Prague tomorrow safe and sound, but this is the first time this has hapened to me

This week in Konstanz was a bit unfortunate because of the heatwave ☀️. However, me and my boyfriend decided to just spend the whole week in a uni library with AC & work. Which lead to a fortunate result - I finished an article about editing Medieval Czech texts and how the paradigm changes with AI.
