Ah, yes, DC is Safe and Beautiful now just like all the signs say. The administration wouldn’t gaslight me, would it?

Unclear why the administration hasn't set up one of their banners proclaiming DC now "SAFE AND BEAUTIFUL" on the Monument grounds by 17th. On the plus side, I saw at least 6 national guard wandering along the fenced-off south side of the Reflecting Pool. Presumably they're keeping the fence safe.
Washington Monument grounds along 17th street, with a giant muddy, torn up patch of earth where there was grass before the independence day construction. The Washington Monument is in the background with trees along the right side of the frame and a sky of a puffy clouds. But mostly it's dirt.

THE ALGAE HAS ESCAPED CONTAINMENT. Despite draining and fencing off the Reflecting Pool, the algae has managed to cross 17th Street and is growing in the mess of puddles and dirt where green grass flourished before the buildout for 7/4/26.
Green algae growing in a giant puddle left by heavy equipment used to make a mess of the west side of the Washington Monument grounds. The puddle is in a large, barren area of dirt with some remaining green grass in the background. In the distance is the Washington Monument with its circle of flags.

A month after 5" of snow and 2-3" of sleet fell, and DC still has plenty to go around. Though I guess the Capitol Beautification Committee realized that a mountain of dirty snow would still be an improvement over the current majority, so that's a plus.
