They recommended Orgain Plant-based Protein Powder when I was undergoing treatment. It's got pea protein, brown rice protein, mung bean protein, and chia seeds. I've been pretty happy with it and still use it.

Nice! I had never seen them before. I was so happy they closed with Together in Electric Dreams (even though technically not a HL song).

Well, I hope that next test turns out okay. It's been a pretty stressful year, things are mostly starting to stabilize now. A couple of health concerns - hopefully minor. How are things overall for you?

Thanks! Yeah, I always have plenty of water when I eat and it just wouldn't wash it down this time.

Had a scare tonight. Got some food stuck in my throat. Was on the phone with emergency dispatch before I finally got it down. Two years after radiation, swallowing dense or dry foods can still be very difficult. Tried to wet a little bread in some sauce and it got stuck anyway.

I'm not sure I believe that. My dad's obsession with drinking was terrible this past 6 months and any time I tried to do any research AI would tell me to call AA. I literally could not get any information. I told AI it wasn't me that had the drinking problem but it didn't care-it just said call AA.

6 month CT Scan again shows no evidence of cancer. Been almost 23 months since treatment. One more CT Scan in December and if that's clean I can be discharged and officially be a former cancer patient.

Fwiw, CT this week showed no evidence of cancer again. Been 16 months so far. Target is to reach 24 months where likelihood of returning dramatically decreases.

This is Marlowe. She's about 2 years old and can be rambunctious. It's her first Christmas with us. We're thinking of not putting any ornaments on the lower end of the tree and no garland.

Re-watched the grandaddy of #FilmNoir last night for #Noirvember: Out of the Past (1947). 5 Stars. 10/10. 100/100. A+.

Four movie posters for the film noir, Out of the Past (1947). Posters feature Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, and Kirk Douglas.

#Noirvember 14 was The Glass Key (1942) for Veronica Lake's birthday. The blu ray came out in 2019, but could still use an update - if only to get rid of those hideous yellow subtitles.

#Noirvember 7 Smooth as Silk (1946) The best and most noir of the recent Film Noir Kino Lorber Box Set (V. 26). It's got a proper femme fatale and everything.

Movie poster for Smooth as Silk (1946). Prominently featuring Virginia Grey from Top to Bottom on the left side. She is wearing a long, satiny red dress with matching, strappy heels. On the right is the heads of the various male characters in the film and on the bottom right, a small image of a man with a gun.

#Noirvember 6 Dr. Broadway (1942) Fun enough movie but a real stretch putting this in a Noir Box Set, Kino.

Movie Poster for the film, Dr. Broadway (1942). Foreground is Dr. Broadway in a suit and fedora looking up at a woman on a high building ledge in the background.

#Noirvember 5 Backfire (1950) Despite the poster, Virginia Mayo is not a temptress or femme fatale in any way here.

Poster for the 1950 Noir Film, Backfire. Virginia Mayo is in the foreground in a seductive pose. A man in a trenchcoat is in the the background.

#Noirvember 4 Nora Prentiss (1947) Ahh, Nora could've made some better decisions, but I don't think she's a femme fatale here. Watch it for yourself and decide. I'd give it 4/5. Streaming on HBO Max. Nice blu release from Warner Archive. Includes a Behind the Eight Ball short and a Bugs Bunny.

Glad it's #Noirvember - I've got a lot of #PhysicalMedia to get caught up on. 1/3 of these are new-to-me and the other 2/3 I've seen, but are new to me on blu/4k. Also, will look for any unseen #Noir that's streaming this month-especially Poverty Row, BritNoir, French, and Japanese Noir. #Filmsky

My uncle took me to Cubs/Mets in 83. Cubs down 1-0 in 9th. Sandberg comes up. Uncle: He's nothing. Me: He's pretty good. Sandberg knocks it out to tie it up. Cubs get more on base and win in a walkoff. Next season, Sandberg breaks out with a MVP year and the rest is history.
