Walt Weiss 1995 Pinnacle I'm not entirely sure how you can bunt with that grip but I can't figure out what else he could be doing. His eyes and his body posture certainly make it look like he's waiting for a pitch. #cardsky

I picked up 3 more bunters I don't have. My son picked up a Mookie Betts and a couple of Pokémon packs for ripping fun. We had a great couple of hours. During the course of the show, I got to answer questions from my son like "what's a comp?" and "what's a case hit?" #cardsky

My co-worker showed up with this fantastic Jim Abbott 1991 Upper Deck card that I didn't have and gave it to me. Even better - it was freshly pulled from a 35-year-old pack that he cracked open over the weekend. #cardsky

Most people are surprised when I say I collect bunting cards. They say they've never heard of anyone collecting them. It's happened enough that I decided to reach out to Dr. James Beckett, who I feel has seen pretty much everything, & ask him if he ever encountered a large collection of bunters.

After getting back from the show, my son said that he had a new appreciation for how crazy it is that I have almost 1,000 cards depicting players bunting. Maybe it's because I only bought 4 cards at the show or maybe it's because he hadn't really given it much thought before. 1/4

Who won the men's singles championship at the U.S. Open 100 years ago? That's right, it was Rene Lacoste, who defeated Jean Borotra in straight sets in the 1926 U.S. National Championships. Lacoste won the following year as well, beating Bill Tilden in straight sets.

In addition to bunting cards, I also collect vintage tennis cards, with a focus on RCs or 1st appearances of HOFers. After keeping an eye out, I recently got a good deal on this Rene Lacoste 1926 Lambert & Butler Who’s Who in Sport- his first appearance on a card according to TCDB. #cardsky

My collection of cards depicting bunters is now at 984. Using this old post as a useful guide, I see that I've collected 620 cards depicting bunters over the past 21 months. That averages out to about 30 cards per month, or about one card per day. #cardsky
