Rogan isn’t a zealot. He’s a greedy idiot. Just like Oprah, who in addition to platforming Phil and Dr Oz was a major source of publicity for antivaxxers in the early 2000s thanks to boosting Jenny McCarthy.

She built a platform that people trusted and gave these guys a place on it. She’s just as culpable for their impacts as Rogan is for the trash he uncritically puts on his podcast.

They’re keeping everything functioning. The TFW program is absolutely abused by corporations to suppress wages, but the solution is not to attack the workers. It’s to do a better job of regulating business.

Like, I believe you and agree that it’s not his *intent* to place responsibility for Israel’s actions on the Jewish community at large, but man did he ever word his statement in a way that can be interpreted that way by the wrong people.

www.msn.com/en-ca/news/c... “We (Jews) failed to do our part to stop an ongoing genocide” isn’t what he said in the quote in this article? Weird.

For sure, there are many high profile Jews who have spoken out against the genocide / in support of Palestine. I just think his wording 100% plays into the false narrative that Israel represents the Jewish community, which is then twisted to claim that any criticism of Israel is antisemitism.

Brent @bumpernackle.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
A lot of writers are taking his statement to ridiculous extremes, but I can see why it’s deserving of critique. With the way pro-Israel voices conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism, his statement plays right into their narrative that Israel actually is synonymous with the Jewish community.

Brent @bumpernackle.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
He didn’t criticize a genocide. He criticized the global Jewish community for failing to stop it. If someone can hold Jews at large responsible for failing to stop Israel, doesn’t that imply that Jews at large are responsible for all of Israel’s actions, which we’re explicitly against doing?

I’m not a medical expert but isn’t any “birthing centre” a hospital by default? Giving birth can become pretty life threatening.

The ideal thing is to just stay home unless you absolutely can’t (e.g. can’t afford not to work). Going to social events, non-essential shopping, etc. while sick is a ridiculous thing for the average person who gets a respiratory illness for like a week out of the year.

This isn’t a post about whether or not Ron White is a good person. And if you need to be completely ideologically consistent on all topics to be a good person, nobody is a good person. The “good/bad” person binary is a gross oversimplification of human beings.

I hate Trump, but dementia is actually pretty damn good reason not to stick around for an event. Then again, it’s also a damn good reason someone should not be in any position of importance, much less president.

Trump's attacks on our civil liberties didn't come out of nowhere. The groundwork for his Orwellian surveillance state was laid by the post-9/11 PATRIOT Act. Only one Senator at the time had the foresight to see what it would unleash.

And while it is unnecessary today and an unacceptable practice on children that can’t consent, if you go back to the hygiene standards of a couple thousand years ago you’ll see a actual benefit in preventing infections (not just STIs).

I’m assuming head fatalities are more common for pedestrians because they’re lower to the ground; get hit by an SUV and it’ll probably smoke a shorter person’s head. Cyclists would be impacted more torso/abdomen. It’s a bad article, honestly.

Brent @bumpernackle.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
That article does nothing to exclude motor vehicle collisions, so it’s useless. We’re talking about the risk of the activity itself, not when being struck by a car.
001
Brent @bumpernackle.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Or 20 km/h or 15. If you hit your head on the concrete from a standstill it can be fatal; a bicycle just increases the risk substantially because you’re moving, have less control over your falls, etc. The point is that helmets are valuable regardless of what your cycling infrastructure looks like.

Brent @bumpernackle.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
If you’re cycling at 30 km/h and you bail, you want a helmet regardless of whether there was a car involved or not.

Yeah the US has shown it’s not ready for a female president the last two times a woman has run. The fact that Harris lost to a 2nd Trump term after he was previously beaten by grandpa Biden makes that pretty evident.

Each biological sex has actual inherent strengths. It is a biomechanical fact that men are on average larger and stronger per unit mass than women of a comparable fitness level. That’s not an access issue. Women are better endurance athletes than men.

If you truly think democracy requires no history of settlement or oppression and all citizens of perfectly equal means and privilege, then the term may as well not exist. It’s like saying “you can only be a good person if you never do anything that negatively impacts anyone/thing at any point.”

We’re a settler colony: Yes. We’re a kyriarchy: Yes (as is every human society in history). Neither of these precludes Canada being a democracy.
