They're always doing discounts here on Coke and crisps and chocolate, just like 30% off, not 3 for 2. I get the annoyance at the fiddly interference but it has not been an end to cheap fatsugar snacks.

I was surprised to see it's been the case in England for a year, there's still aisles of pizza and pop and confectionery, I've not noticed the restriction. But now I read this, yes, it's only aisles not promotional edges. I've seen regular discounts on free from choc biscuits but not multibuys.

I was going to do lots of house maintenance/move prep tasks today, but walked 4400 steps by 9am for my flu jab, so I think more resting!

I found some in Saffron Walden Superdrug, use by 12 Jan 2027, £1 for 6 - can let you have a box if you need some. My old supplier of the boxes of 25 has been out of stock for ages.

For #FingerpostFriday - just passed this, tboth nice in the clatter of the remaining letters (as if a storm passed through), and the ghost font left behind in the cleaner white wood.

I tried stick on nails at 18 and went to my gap year job and put on the clear plastic gloves to work with the liquid crystals and all the nails came off and I had two gloves full of nails :-)

Streets do have their names changed so this all must be possible but everything is so interconnected now.

What happens when I tell the utilities about a new address and they insist on knowing my new meter details. How many chatbots do I have to explain to that I've stayed still but my address has changed. What happens to systems when an address stops existing (does it have start/stop dates) etc etc

My first instinct is that I'd prefer the road to have a different name. Then the logistics brain kicks in, how does this work? Once the legal change has happened. How long to align PAF, mapping, deliveries, ID, how do I prove I've been living there when the old docs are in the old name.

Not leaping into October with aches and fuzzy head. I tried a new granola on Tuesday, oats but not certified gluten free oats and I suspect that, with a dose of tiredness catching up on me from busy days. I went to London yesterday but too achy by 6.30 to stay for the comedy gig :-(

In my imagination I was going to get everything sorted for Toby's move by the end of August, and spend September doing craft. It is September 30 and my craft area is boxed in by bookcases and I have not touched it :-) Went to Quilt Class yesterday but just to watch and nod sagely.

Moving some of my furniture into my partner’s house. Finally our favourite chairs can sit by side.
A wooden reading chair, all faux leather, and arms as wide as the sea, sitting alongside a plush red chair the shape of space age punctuation.

First big box move today! 37 Toby crates and boxes and two chairs. Decent van man but it turns out he's on his own and a ground floor to ground floor mover, not really taking furniture upstairs. He did help with the two chairs though so I can still get down the hallway, Toby's visiting tomorrow.

45 years later she learned the phrase "autistic hierarchy blindness". (It made sense to tell everyone all at once! Lots of people were asking her individually. A notice in assembly is more efficient.)

Following "Bizarre things that happened in your assembly" and waiting for the story of the 10yo girl in primary school who put her hand up in assembly to tell everyone the reason why she'd stopped playing violin in the big concert (removing the mute knocked her bridge and she was out of tune).

Decluttering: Swapping the king bed for a double. Do I declutter the sheets (2 fitted, one valance, 15-20yo poly/cotton) or Save Them For Craft Purposes? e.g. dressmaking practice, for toiles etc.

I had a big VHS session about four years ago, stuck at home; I watched the 70-odd cassettes of things I'd taped off the TV in the 1990s and bought what I wanted to keep as DVDs. It's just family tapes left.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when Toby moves in, I'll have different activity patterns and fewer weekend trips, different balance of chores, it might leave me with a bit more for discretionary strolls and small excursions.

Long Covid update: my brain fog seems somewhat improved from a couple of years ago, I could not have fathomed these connections. Stamina is still limited, including brain stamina. Walking stamina took a knock with last year's infection and not quite back yet, 25 minutes max before rest.

All done, took them an hour to get two beds and sofabed downstairs (needed to unbolt the mechanism), took a bunch of the smaller broken things like old clothes airers and a strimmer and the bits of the shed roof that failed in 2020. Hurrah!

Today is: waiting for clearance people to come and take one bed, and move another bed and sofa to the garage. We'd agreed the date last week but not the time, but I have plenty of at-home things to keep me going.
