updated these. awesome. fun. we love it

a chart with a center image and two rings of images around it. in the center is a photo of a plush fox squirrel. in the inner ring are photos of a green bottlefly, a fluffy floppy-eared puppy, a dilute tortoiseshell cat, and a grey dun fjord pony. in the outer ring are photos of a moon jellyfish, a rubber ducky isopod, a white-tailed deer buck, a tree frog, a squirrel monkey, a pennsylvanian firefly, a goat, and a reddish-brown stag beetle.

same type of chart as prev, but with cartoons. in the center is teto from nausicaa. the inner ring has shigeo from mob psycho 100, n from pokemon, anthy from revolutionary girl utena, and sapphire from steven universe. the outer ring has hiccup from how to train your dragon, barber from barber westchester, rakka from haibane renmei, bubbles from the powerpuff girls, glimmer from she-ra and the princesses of power, soul evans from soul eater, inuyasha from inuyasha, and skiploom from pokemon

it's hard to see in the moment, but i feel like im getting better at making the kind of art that's for me (2024 - 2025 - 2026)

paint marker over lino print of dandelion (before he was greyscale) in flight, on the cover of an old sketchbook

digital drawing of dandelion in flight, more detailed in style than the other two but something always felt kinda off about it to me

today's doodle of dandelion in a similar pose, though i didn't have any colors on me so it's greyscale. it's not perfect but the pose feels most fluid and the style feels most cohesive of the three, to me

posting old art: test prints of the first blockprint i carved

three prints of a cat with sunglasses lounging all cool-style with the text YOU GOT THIS! each is decorated with pink and blue paint marker in a different style

another tidbit for the pinned thread

my gender, displayed with four rainbow sliders. on the dyke-faggot scale, i'm more faggot. on the geometry-algebra scale, i am nonbinary. on the robot-plushie scale, i strongly lean plushie. on the critter-beast scale, i am solidly critter

self portrait for class - it's done! or... due, anyway, lol it was my first time painting a portrait and it was a lot of fun despite also being excruciating!!

oil painting of me, shirtless, looking off to the side

150

bugdog @bugdog.art · 12/04/2026

more progress... it's due monday morning so i gotta get satisfied with it soon 😵‍💫

self portrait from prev posts. more details added, esp around face and the shadow on the left torso

same painting again. lots of tone/value adjustments, detail added to/around the hair, and the background is bluer and worse now

010

bugdog @bugdog.art · 04/04/2026

springtime weather brings me so much joy i cant contain myself about it

my painting setup from yesterday-- it's beautiful out so i have everything outside on our balcony!!

120

bugdog @bugdog.art · 01/04/2026

some progress shots of a self portrait im working on for class :•)

messy underpainting in burnt sienna, burnt umber, and utrecht vivid turquoise. i'm shirtless so you can see my top surgery scars, and looking off to the side. my glasses are on my forehead keeping my hair out of my eyes. the eyes are kinda lopsided.

prev painting but with pink midtones added. the colors are captured more accurately here, so you can tell the blues were really oversaturated and the oranges were really undersaturated in the last photo

more progress-- more highlights, more pinks. a background has been blocked in (pastel blues and pinks)

more progress -- shadows have started to get blocked in, more details are starting to be defined, and the eyes are finally less lopsided

130

bugdog @bugdog.art · 30/03/2026

i tried to schedule a co working time but the artist trading card table was too enticing. no homework was completed on this day 😌

pen and crayola marker doodle of bugdog throwing up a peace sign (or, as best he can make one with only three fingers). bugdog.art is written above him

030

bugdog @bugdog.art · 30/03/2026

tried "printing on fabric" for the first time yesterday.. to varying degrees of success

feelin' like a bug on a leash, with a little cartoon pipi bug. it's been block printed onto a variety of fabrics, most white ink on black fabrics but a couple black ink on light fabric

010

bugdog @bugdog.art · 30/03/2026

the progress photos, also,

underpainting of pink and light blue with just basic shapes blocked in

detail has been added including much darker blue values and expressions

the blue has been toned down a bit, more highlights re-added, more detail on the spots, and teef!

a a now that its birthday passed i can finally post the painting i did for @bloomiez.bsky.social's bday ^_^

small oil painting of two cartoony hoodie rats in a kind of yin-yang pose; one has a mischievous sharp tooth smirk and the other, a very peaceful and calm expression. both have little hearts next to them

131

bugdog @bugdog.art · 22/02/2026

some studies i did for class last month

three small oil paintings on wood panels. they're all of white wooden geometric shapes, though the colors of the lighting have been somewhat exaggerated

010

bugdog @bugdog.art · 25/11/2025

new website new pinned post: find me at bugdog.art ! this account is my most "formal" social media presence besides my website. i'll post art here sometimes. dandelion is my main fursona and bugdog is my mascot i guess, or something like that

digital drawing featuring my fursona dandelion (a grey fox squirrel with horns and wings) on the left and bugdog (a green six-legged doglike creature) on the right

here's my art In Person In Public for the first time*. neat *except that time i put like 300 stickers i drew in a baggie and pinned it to a public bulletin board with a sign inviting people to take some for free

my painting *grisps you* which features an abstracted hand roughly grabbing a plushie by the face, in a muted purple palette. it is hanging on a blank white wall with a little info tag and everything
