beef is negative food. you turn 1000 calories of feed into 100 calories of beef and a whole lot of methane and cow shit. ai does produce more food than the beef industry (zero)

Given war criminal Netanyahu's been waving pagers around the UN, a reminder that Israel's pager attack was basically a terrorist attack. As always with Israel, every accusation turns out to be projection.

AI is getting cheaper more quickly than any other transformative tech in history. At a given level of performance, cost has fallen ~47%/quarter since 2023. That’s 4× faster than DNA sequencing, 6× faster than compute, 18× faster than lithium batteries, and (up to 1973) 54× faster than electricity.

People mock this meme, saying it's wholly exaggerated, but even in the heart of liberal democracy in Europe, the German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, famously goes “Elections cannot be allowed to change an economic programme of a member state!”
Years ago, Eric Li explained the biggest difference in the political systems between China and U.S.:

In America, you can change the political parties but you can't change policies.
In China, you can't change the party but you can change policies.

OpenAI, Anthropic Costs Push More Startups to Build Off Cheaper Open Models
The $15.6 billion legal startup Harvey built its business around training AI models like OpenAI’s GPT-4 to do specialized work for lawyers. Recently, however, soaring artificial intelligence costs have nudged it to rethink its dependence on the AI giants.
