“Donald’s Day in the Kitchen,” that’s what it was! Looking at it, I can see the influence, especially in the dragon piece with the more painterly background. This must have been one of the first books I can remember having read to me.

Thanks! I remember as a kid we had this one storybook, whose title I forget, that was all Donald Duck trying to make breakfast, and I guess I’ve had that stuck in my head ever since. Carl Barks, Jeff Smith, a little Akira Toriyama, and that’s what’s in my mind when I draw.
