Yesterday 7 of 3,727 user-facing AI API calls failed (0.19%), all upstream model timeouts. Users saw "try again later." Our p99 hit 3.7s, then recovered. Is 0.19% acceptable, or would you add a fallback model?

Are y'all running code review + testing agents on your code before sending it to PR or waiting until after?

Does anyone have any good examples of AI-assisted (MCP) onboarding for SaaS? Both Stripe and Posthog have gone this route but I'm trying to collect more as I think it's fascinating.

Ever suffered through the pain of asking someone to make a DNS change over email? Suffer no more! I've just added the ability to share DNS change requests on the DNSisBeautiful site. Bundles the request + a test if they set it right into one shareable URL.

Tell me what's bad/wrong here? I'm prototyping a new feature for DNSisBeautiful that lets folks make request links via simple parameters that they can then send to someone to get them to make a DNS change. Would this make sense if you got landed on this page?

Used Opus 5.5 for the past 24 hours across ~5 projects and it sure does feel like Fable smarts but much faster.

If you want to try the new Opus 5.5 with Claude Code make sure that you've installed it via the native installer and not via homebrew (which lags releases).

It's kind of crazy how much better Claude Code is than Codex at handling and working with multiple different iterations of MCP servers. It's not even the "future" it's literally just what I need to get through my working day.

Anyone have a really good way of using worktrees in dev? I've got my own per-project setup but it feels like there's got to be a better way.

My new sign off on drip emails is "p.s. if you reply to this email a human will answer it." Is that actually helpful information to people signing up?

If you find yourself with extra AI token quota before a reset, start grinding out dependency+security updates and improving test coverage of your apps.

Genuinely shocking to me that some people aren't using a "fast-chat" skill with ClaudeCode or Codex. Turns narrations into super quick decision points.

Working on HutchDB has been very frustrating as when try it out and get it they go "oh this is very handy!" but actually describing it has been a challenge. Trying a new pitch. Better?

Most AI "Agent" demos are really slight and kind of underwhelming because they don't have access to persistent data storage and collaboration (to both human and other AI agents), which is why I'm building HutchDB.

Dealing with bots signing up for SendCheckIt only to immediately invoke the "forgot password" form to try and email bomb people. They're also abusing the gmail dot trick to push more through. Anyone else had to deal with this?

Overall I think the codex sandboxes + permissions makes more sense over Claude's. Less friction, more freedom.

My experiments with procedural terrain generation are going really well. I'd previously produced a nice looking meadow, but now have a really slick grimdark cobblestone as well.

Woke up to a support request from a site that is suffering what appears to be a supply chain attack. In production, their web app is launching a second GTM script that then loads a fake captcha that's likely stealing user sessions. Check your dependencies!

Today's experiment in model behavior: how well do frontier models actually follow directions? I gave GPT-5.6 Sol, Claude Fable 5, and Kimi K3 the same writing task with explicit rules, then added more rules each round: exact word counts, banned words, required phrasings.

Smartphones replaced a whole closetful of devices and now I think we're seeing the same with AI tools where they are directly consolidating big chunks of the software industry. I think we are going to see them become the primary "interface" for things going forward.

I've got a m2 air with 24gb ram, but it keeps feeling very constrained resources wise as I have a ton of virtual spaces and projects going in each. Should I just bite the bullet and get a mac studio and keep the m2 air for travel?

"Token Efficiency" is a scam. Take this comparison of glm-5.2, opus and sol. GLM is 3x faster and 10x cheaper...so why would you care even if it burned 100x tokens? (Made with Evvl)

Just shipped one-click unsubscribes for SendCheckIt's emails. Gmail and Yahoo have required this from bulk senders since 2024, and Microsoft's Outlook rules from last May expect an easy unsubscribe too. The entire feature is two email headers:

Codex + their security review skill has been really great at shrinking the surface area of my apps. Really helped slim down the number of unused framework features and extra packages that have snuck in over the years.

I've always depended on the ability to just pop down to the Apple store and buy a new mac if my Air ever died, but the weeks maybe months delays to get a new one are making me think I need a hot standby Mac?

Been orchestrating Codex security reviews across all my repos from inside Claude Code. Sounds like overkill. Is actually great — apart from the occasional "wait, am I hacking myself?" refusal.

Pretty sure DNS Is Beautiful (my lil side project) got mentioned in the Last Week in AWS newsletter, as the only other explanation for this graph is that someone is very, very gently DDoSing me. 370 unique visitors this week, up 825%. A month of flatline, then a cliff.

Spammers ruin everything. I've now had to silently block all email to sms gateway domains on SendCheckIt because of abuse issues. If you run an email service I suggest you do the same.

There are two different things happening at Google right now and search marketers keep mashing them together:

Most people, unsurprisingly, are not search professionals. They don't parse a SERP finely enough to tell an AI Overview from a featured snippet, a knowledge panel, or a "People also ask" box. They're all just gray boxes Google puts above the links.

Years ago I ran DemandGen at an enterprise cybersecurity company that was genuinely best in class for their niche, and we explicitly didn't publish side-by-side comparisons with competitors.

I see a lot of overlap between AI model hallucinations and the new paper that was just released on UGC and Reddit manipulation. Hallucinations are caused by a lack of data, and manipulation works for the same reason.

Search Disrupted Issue 37 is out 5 stories inside. AI hallucinations and Reddit manipulation share the same root cause. Lily Ray's data: self-promotional listicles recommend competitors 69% of the time. Pew says 60% of Americans read AI summaries (the real number is closer to everyone).
