I haven’t watched the Scream movies in years and only saw the first 3 or 4, long enough I can’t remember which, so after watching the first 2 seasons of the MTV show I think I may have been the perfect audience for it? It’s familiar, but it’s new, and it’s distinct, and I’m not comparing the two

Matchbox Connectors Grumo! (Aka Ertl Socket Poppers Swamp Monster). Stick Swamp Thing, Toxie and Muckman in a blender then add a load of random other arms and legs and you’ve got ol’ Grumo here. He’s got great detailing, particularly on his back #vintagetoytuesday

Beast Machines McDonald’s Nightscream! Again, very impressive how accurate this is. In scale with more things than the Ultra and a lot less breaky. The translucent wings are lovely and nice that they end up on his legs. Not sure about the begging puppy pose in robot mode

The Lost World Jurassic Park High Hide! You go you high & you hide. High Hide *mimes hiding*. Clamps onto furniture! Nick Van Owen never uses the High Hide so his inclusion seems a bit random but it did allow for the creation of a more accurate head (more accurate Eddie would’ve been better, but eh)

Ian Malcolm & Nick Van Owen have gone high & hidden. High Hide. Perhaps realising the platform wasn’t the most exciting of toys Kenner strapped a missile launcher to it

The High High comes with a fast-retract grappling hook backpack that can be used to get up and down from the hide. This is very handy as a hungry Bull T.rex is passing by. Ian was worried that the hide would put them at a convenient biting height and Nick is about to test that theory!

Gobots Fright Face! Funny name for someone who hasn’t actually got a face (unless you count the Monsterous head inside of him). According to his bio “few can look upon his frightening face and not quake in utter terror” which leads me to headcannon that his blank face projects his enemy’s worst fear

Panel 11: Audrey's head happily pops out of the water, sending little droplets flying and reflecting the moonlight. "This was something aquatic," Val narrates, "Gentle. Curious. Unhurt."

Panel 12: Audrey's eyes sparkle as he notices a rubber duck floating around in the pool with him. It has round glasses, making it look kinda like Val. "Or maybe not unhurt," Val continues narrating, "but..."

Panel 13: Audrey picks up the rubber duck, smiling and inspecting it curiously.

Panel 14: Audrey holds up the rubber duck above his head so that Val can see it, big smile beaming. Behind him is an almost magical, chromatic sky filled with red, yellow, green, and blue stars, galaxies, and a huge moon. All of these elements are also reflected in the rippling pool, making it look like a paint-filled art easel. "Not defined by hurt," thinks Val.

CONTINUED, The Boy From Venus #13. 🦦 Gonna need 2 for this one, so [1/2]

Panel 1: Val and Audrey are standing together in front of the pool. Audrey points forward as they exchange a look and says "You don't have to go in if you don't want to. But I'm goin' in!"

Panel 2: Audrey begins to pull up his shirt over his head, illuminated by a streetlight behind him.

Panel 3: Val quickly covers her eyes, sweating a bit, surprised by him suddenly doing that.

Panel 4: We see only the thin slivers of light leaking between Val's fingers from Val's point of view. A speech bubble appears by one of the slivers, the tail indicating it to be from Audrey. "Val?" says Audrey.

Panel 5: Still Val's point of view. Val opens her fingers a bit, just enough to see Audrey's face looking at her, amused. "Val, why are you doing that? Ha ha," says Audrey.

Panel 6: Val opens her eyes fully to see Audrey in a frilly blue two-piece bathing suit with a top that slings around the shoulders on both the side and top, and a skirt bottom. "It's just a bathing suit," says Audrey, "It's not like I'm naked."

Panel 7: Audrey walks off, sticking his tongue out a bit stupidly, as Val looks on. Audrey says "Anyway, I know what I'M here for. I'm gonna go splash around!"

Panel 8: Val thinks "I had seen Audrey be clumsy when we were walking on land before," and remembers him tripping with a fast food tray in front of her, sending french fries and soda flying everywhere.

Panel 9: Val looks forward, the pool reflecting in her glasses, and thinks "But, looking at him now, I realized something."

Panel 10: Audrey smiles placidly as his whole body gracefully flows through the water, as if he he one with the currents, bubbles gliding around him along the rhythms of his body. "This was never a land creature," Val narrates.
