I have seen a brief FB Reel from Subway Takes guy where the Take was "Bring back catcalling, but only for uplifting messages." So like, "YOU ARE ENOUGH!" and, yes, "YOU GOT THIS!". I guess "You Go Girl" would fit here but I'm not sure who could pull that one off on a busy city street.

Should clarify -- the Oak Ridge Kroger's was the first one I remember seeing with more gourmet sections. Fancy cheeses, salumeria. Actual daily baguettes and sourdough. More than canned olives and pickels. Not just saltines or Club or Ritz crackers.

There was a time when the first supermarket that had actual gourmet sections was the Oak Ridge, TN Kroger's and it was wonderful. 10 or more years ago at this point. I have paid attention to the supermarket news since then and I still hit Acme and won't go Kroger's anymore.

We already have our mail-in ballots here in Pennsylvania. Eventually, the family sits down together an fills out all the Dem circles, and then we drive over to the drop box and turn them in. But that will be in a few days when we all have time.

Sorry about comment thread, but this is why Trump getting elected the first time was a terrible thing. They now all are fully convinced that everyone really does believe in bigotry.

Their use of the term "virtue signaling" gives away their game. They literally think everyone else really believes what they believe - everyone is racist, sexist, etc. So when others say and do the Right Thing, they are just "virtue signaling" because they don't really mean it.

I think I have had a few short exchanges with @moryan.bsky.social about #SleepyHollow before, especially once her book came out. Got an FB memory where I was hoping the show would bring back more terms from the Revolution like gillygaupus. I miss being naive about the bts stuff.

I happen to live in Philadelphia and you have no idea how much I want the name of the street to go back to Delaware Avenue from that bullshit boulevard. I have always called it Delaware Avenue anyway. Billy Penn was a friend to the Delaware. He would not have liked Columbus.

Also, @joehenderson.bsky.social I am very glad you seemed to channel Oceans 11 in the last season and have Neil be almost totally in charge of all the cons. That is why the last season works. Hints of what the cons were, main plot goes down, but it isn't what you thought it was. #WhiteCollar

I haven't read the article yet, but I'm going to. I will say, the whole reason I started watching 9-1-1 (on Fox) was because of "Emergency!" There had been other shows about early responders. But Emergency had that whole angle of "Doctors didn't want paramedics doing treatments."

I don't know about Harmonica, but I once took a bus from Phila to Boston to play trombone in a parade on or near St Patty's Day, and then the bus back to Phila... With drunk Mummers with kazoos. Both ways on the bus. Equal parts hilarious, slightly scary, and 'stop the drone.'

Last season of #WhiteCollar re-watch. @joehenderson.bsky.social I understand why it was written that way. But every time I watch, I know that Neil could be a paid consultant for the FBI and could also be an Art Historian or Art Restorer in a lot of places. FBI didn't need to screw him over.

Fucking hell. I am so behind the curve about Black History in this country and even I know that there are still lynchings. I just learned about Tulsa a couple years ago. And I was like, "Seriously, public education?" We have a slight connection in that I also grew up in Philadelphia.

Yeah... they all lose in reality. Sometimes a person is married to an attorney and that's how you learn that all of those series are crap when it comes to the law and courtroom procedure. Have you seen My Cousin Vinny? They use Vinny's Cross Examinations in Continuing Legal Education Classes.

Had a friend worked at Acme(Albertson's) in the meat department. Once told him I used the new self-checkout at my local Acme. "Yeah, they put them in so they can cut cashiers." I stopped using them unless they are the only option. (Usually early in the morning, they don't open lanes.)
