125th Anniversary weekend for the Albion, featuring games for both the men’s and women’s senior sides! 3-0 against Arsenal yesterday for the men, hopefully the women replicate against Aston Villa today #bhafc

Genuinely great, and so lovely too! Saw one take a selfie with the Brighton fans he’d been bantering with all game, as well as stewards helping home and away fans trade scarves over the divider tarp.

Really really impressed by Tromsø’s fans. Really loud, big flags, bouncing everywhere. Some of the best we’ve had at the Amex #BHAFC

Whether that’s a good or even useful metric is an entirely different question though and isn’t one I have an answer for. There’s also a lot of time spent experimenting for other use cases which maybe offsets any gain anyhow

Great point. I would say for certain categories of tickets (or unit of work etc), particularly tickets that involve creating a new component, I am completing them in maybe 80%-90% the time I was previously which equates to a 1.1x to 1.25x speed up. Cost with Sonnet via Claude Code ~$0.75-$1.50.

I'd say maybe 1.25x for me personally, just because it's really good at writing the test cases for unit tests.

One last time at the Broadfield for @bhafcwomen.bsky.social this season. We know we can beat this @arsenalwfc.bsky.social side, time to do it again

Back at the Broadfield in absolutely glorious sunshine. Hoping @bhafcwomen.bsky.social can finish what @officialbha.bsky.social started yesterday and get a win over Liverpool to round off the weekend double #bhafc

A sunny winter’s day at the Broadfield for @bhafcwomen.bsky.social vs Nottingham Forest Women in the FA Cup. Progression in the cup for both senior sides would improve seasons with up and down league campaigns. Much love to Dario Vidic who is taking some time away for family reasons

For the first time in a while, it’s @bhafcwomen.bsky.social at the Broadfield. A special Christmas outfit for Sally Seagull before we face @chelseafcw.bsky.social fresh from their first defeat in more than a year. Gonna be a tough one! #bhafc

I hadn’t considered it from that angle, but when you look at players like Kirby and Parris arrive, and Losada last season, then I can understand how the club would be looking for a more experienced hand

Given much of the last two seasons were a complete mess, he’s done superbly. Do still feel for Mikey Harris who I felt did really well last season and probably deserved to be promoted from interim

Final game of @bhafcwomen.bsky.social’s season, away at Villa Park. Genuinely love this ground, absolutely gorgeous and packed with history. Perfect venue for a final 3 points. Seagulls! #bhafc

Math problem: 17mph is 7.6 metres per second Average adult male throws 45mph to 65mph (20.1 to 29.1 m/s) So each apple moving at 27.7 to 36.7 m/s An apple weighs around 140 grams And f=ma Which gets us 3.9 to 5.1 Newtons per apple About the same force as getting hit by an apple

This is both very cool and probably going to give me huge headaches. Would love to see this in base React Native as well, or baked into react-navigation

They’ve said a subscription service is coming, but it will only be things like longer or higher res videos and access to cosmetic upgrades. No algorithmic shifts and no blue tick etc…

Yeah you essentially run into the Mastodon/ActivityPub problem, but at least with the separation of concerns it makes everything a lot simpler

Sorry what I mean is provide an app view but no relay, or relay but no app view. Someone spinning up “relay as a service” nodes to offload that element of the infrastructure

Kris Lipscombe @btnkris.bsky.social · 11/11/2024
At present we see Bluesky providing the relay and the app view correct? Do you think there’s a use case to have them separate?

Absolutely. Facebook is, for sure, not the best option at all but may be the best of the social media platforms in terms of message contents

While I still wouldn’t trust it over Signal, Facebook Messenger does support E2EE now. Dedicated platforms like Signal/Telegram will still be better

Ah great, really appreciate the info. Wide range of clients is a strong sign of a healthy platform/protocol IMO And yes, non-microblogging use cases are interesting, thinking about Instagram/TikTok style apps built on the protocol

Theoretically you should be able to, I don’t remember how deeply the default image handler integrates with the native handler, but there are a variety of libraries that handle images in different ways However, a lot of libraries etc… use Reanimated which is a JS based library

The new Google stuff is interesting, but I do worry companies are going in too heavily on LLM and AI ahead of other features. Sure, some of it looks great! How much is the average user going to use it though? #MadeByGoogle
