One of the holes in this snap wasn’t fully punctured during manufacturing and somehow that went completely unnoticed by me until I had finished sewing through three holes and tried to move on to the fourth. 😵‍💫
My skirt’s waistband and centre placket have several small clothing snaps sewn to them. One snap has only three holes instead of the four that the other snaps have.

7. NE Syphon Rehabilitation - $35.0 million higher than forecast primarily due to a pipe rupture in the tunnel which caused flooding in early 2025. This unexpected rupture resulted in this emergency project to be prioritized over the 2025-2027 period. The increase in forecast includes lining the existing Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) pipe, replacement of electrical / SCADA system, flow and system control of the syphon, pipe replacement and bypass pumping.

Btw does anyone know what the latest is on when the trail and staircase from 167 Ave down to Amisk Wâciy Âsokan (Beaver Hills Bridge) is expected to be open? I would prefer not to walk through the golf course any more… #yegbike #yegwalk
NE SYPHON PROJECT

PROJECT OVERVIEW
EPCOR is responsible for the maintenance of the drainage infrastructure in Edmonton. As infrastructure ages, it deteriorates.

A sanitary syphon located between two pump stations on the west and east sides of the North Saskatchewan River in northeast Edmonton requires rehabilitation. The syphon crosses underneath the river and transports flow from the Clareview Sanitary Trunk (CST) to the ARROW Utilities wastewater treatment plant.

WHAT'S HAPPENING
The work is taking place within the pump wells,
but an overland bypass is required to temporarily
redirect flows while work is ongoing.

Residents may experience increased construction as we perform this essential
traffic throughout the neighbourhood. Portions of the trail system are also closed to accommodate the bypass and construction equipment.

SAFETY
The construction area is a restricted area. We request your assistance in keeping children and pets a safe distance from the construction site and equipment.

We thank you for your patience and understanding work for the community.

MORE INFORMATION
This work area is expected to be active until
2026. Please note, timelines are estimates
and may change based on weather and construction.A map of the area around the bridge. Trails and distances to other locations are marked, as well as locations of things like parking areas, washrooms, and a staircase.

My current knit wip is a pair of split-toe house socks (no pattern, making it up as I go along). I sent my sister a photo of them on my feet and she said they look like socks for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 😭😵 (she’s not wrong, though) #ShowMeYourKnits 🧶🧦

Just noticed this on the website of an Ontario-based yarn shop. I’ve shopped there in the past but I’m seeing this notice for the first time today. It’s the part about ICE that made me go “whoa.” I would be glad to see more Canadian businesses be this candid and straightforward about the US regime.
Shipping Costs - Domestic or International

SUSPENSION OF SHIPMENTS TO THE USA:

Due to the cancellation of the de minimus exemption and the outrageous demand from the US government that we are required to collect and pre-pay all tariff charges that US customers will owe to their government before we ship, we have suspended all sales to the USA.

As a matter of principle, we refuse to collect and remit taxes on behalf of a foreign government; this is not and has never been our responsibility. We also, as a matter of principle, refuse to collect taxes that the US government will use to fund ICE.

No real garment sewing for me lately but this weekend I did alter this zip-up fleece jacket. The too-short sleeves had bugged me for years and I finally did something about it. Hand-sewed a piece of ribbing to the inner layer of each sleeve so it looks like there’s a long-sleeved top underneath. 👍

While the detour signage is good, the transition back to the SUP on Ellerslie Rd is pretty rough. I’ve marked my suggested route change in yellow on the Strava map screencap above. - 111 St is miserable on a singlespeed. 0/10 experience - 32 Ave SW has bike paths like 132 Ave!

What I learned: - There is indeed a bike/ped detour along the 111 St bridge over Blackmud Creek, but it’s not as quiet and scenic as the little pedestrian bridge lower down. - Construction on Ellerslie Rd near Heritage Valley mostly affects the north SUP. There’s a detour to avoid 141 St. (cont’d)

What do you mean about Parsons?? When I looked on google street view it seemed like there was a continuous SUP. On the city’s website Parsons Rd and 91 St are both marked as SUPs from 23 Ave to Ellerslie. Has that changed recently (construction?) or something?

Hmm, the construction notice said the south side SUP would remain open. Is that not the case? www.edmonton.ca/sites/defaul...
Beginning on/around June 15, ATCO Pipelines will implement temporary traffic and access changes along sections of Ellerslie Road to accommodate pipeline lowering as part of Capital Line South LRT construction. This work is expected to be complete by August 15.
During construction:
• Two westbound to northbound turn bays along Ellerslie Road, turning into the Heritage Valley Park and Ride between 127 Street and 135 Street, will be temporarily closed.
• Drivers can continue to access the Park and Ride and transit centre via 127 Street and 135 Street.
• The shared-use path on the north side of Ellerslie Road will be closed. Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured to the shared-use path on the south side of Ellerslie Road.
• There will be no impacts to transit service or transit centre operations. ETS buses are exempt from these closures and can continue to access the facility as usual.
Please see the maps below for more information.Map 2: Shared-use path detour at Ellerslie Road
Pedestrian route on the north side of Ellerslie Road will be closed.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured to the shared-use path on the south side of Ellerslie Road.
Other Impacts
• Traffic control measures and signage will be in place to help guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists safely through the area.
• Access will be maintained where possible, and construction schedules may be adjusted based on weather conditions and other factors.

Question for south side yegbike knowers: how would you bike from the LRT to Chappelle Gardens? Google/Apple maps seem out of date and I don’t fully trust the city’s online bike map. I was thinking Century Pk LRT --> 111 St (Blackmud Creek detour?) --> Ellerslie Rd --> 141 St? Is there a better way?

More practice. The tatting booklet calls this “Chantilly border” (bobbin lace experts, please don’t hurt me!!!). You can see a few places where I forgot what attaches where but I eventually got it. It’s fine. I then took it to my mother to make the heading because ya girl cannot crochet.
