Upon hearing that, Fukuzawa couldn’t help but turn his head to the side, staring at the boy with utmost confusion. He only did so for a moment, though, since Egawa’s next comment took the spotlight in a heartbeat.

“Boy!” She first said, clearly distressed like she had been when Ranpo had spoken about her not really wanting the job position she was currently in. Her regaining her previous composure didn’t take long, but that didn’t make what was coming less puzzling for him. “Yes, it will be better to simply forget about it.”

Thus, upon receiving the news she would be going on one of those trips around a month prior to it happening, Bram had enlisted Kunikida’s help and started practicing.

Egg sandwiches had proven to be rather easy once he learned how exactly the eggs should be cooked, but onigiri resisted a little. First, the rice wouldn’t come out with the needed consistency, then it had been a matter of Bram himself struggling to bend the portions into shape, even with some filling to help in the task. Still, his determination hadn’t faltered, not until he managed to make it presentable apart from tasty and nutritious.
