Forget about frontier lab model releases, the biggest launch of 2026 is this redesign of example.com. May very well be the launch of the decade.

Not new, no. I recently learned that the arrow R package is one of the most deadlined R packages on CRAN.

Apparently 14 years ago today I was in the village of Emmonak on the Yukon River taking pictures with a GoPro at 7:30 PM with the sun still high in the sky. This trip by itself was an incredible experience but so has the last 14 years.

It seems like we don't have any meaningful metrics to measure around agentic coding so we end up with stuff like this, similar to GitHub's "activity" scoring. Amp has had a really neat looking activity card for a while now:

Do any programming languages or IDEs have a better workflow for setting a breakpoint, writing code in the REPL, and replacing the breakpoint with the code you typed in the REPL? In Ruby and Python, I write a lot of code by inserting binding.pry or breakpoint() calls and it feels so manual.

End of an era, I guess. I have a relatively high rep on SO despite not using the site much and it's all due to asking how to generate PDFs in the browser back in 2009 when it couldn't yet be done.
