Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 04/08/2026Probably my favorite (benign) Chrome "glitch"/bug. Every so often, launching Chrome and restoring a previous session (that had a "New Tab" open) results in this error where it claims "chrome://newtab/" is invalid. Doesn't really matter, but still amusing/silly. 000
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 20/07/2026I think they finally figured out I was fucking with them and blocked me... lol 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 28/06/2026Google isn't much help here... I guess "Muslim Shower" is probably the closest match here... but... uh... that seems... strange in this context? 070
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 28/06/2026Does anyone know what "Docuh" means? When my team at moved to this building (back in March), we had these notes on the dishwasher. And now, the floor below us has them. What does this mean??? What language is it? 180
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 07/06/2026I'm not gonna SAY that Sony/PlayStation made a mistake... but... The game that recently announced end-of-service with one week until the final update is currently, on it's WORST platform (Steam/PC), outperforming Marathon's "free week" on it's BEST platform (Steam/PC)... ... yikes. 110
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 03/04/2026In case you've missed all the other signs you should've been asking this question... ... here's your chance to "catch up" with the rest of us. (The answer, unfortunately, is "yes, yes we are") 000
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 04/03/2026So something cool happened last night. An SSD died. "Wait! That's not cool!" Except... It was just a non-event with Ceph. Data re-replicated to other drives/hosts within a few hours. ... now to get that RMA started... 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 14/02/2026There's nothing more rewarding than seeing something you've been working on for over a month finally working! Decided I didn't like rffmpeg, and decided to go overkill with a high-availability "distributed ffmpeg" coordinator service. github.com/brwyatt/dffm... Warning: consider it pre-alpha 010
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 07/01/2026This just makes me chuckle. I'd rather they just not have this stupid thing popup automatically whenever I track a package, but I like to think this is tracked in someone's metrics somewhere... 000
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 12/11/2025There's a problem here... 3 of these *AREN'T* spam/scam emails.... One is from @eff.org and one is from @aclu.org... But honestly, they blend in so well with the spam/scam emails. And if I didn't tell you who/what to look for... would you be able to tell which aren't spam/scam emails? 010
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 25/10/2025Lol... got an email from @gitguardian.com "OMG YOU COMMITTED A PASSWORD/SECRET TO A GITHUB REPO!!!!! 😱" Lol... yeah, that ain't a secret. Hell, that's a pretty easily guessable string. It's literally just how you say "home.brwyatt.net" in LDAP. lololol 🤣 110
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 08/10/2025How much effort/time do I wanna waste on this one, I wonder... 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 22/09/2025Bah, they seem to have given up... though still reading the messages??? 🤷 Guess they either think they've got what they want (only had the one channel) or I gave enough resistance that they've given up thinking I'm not worth it lol 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 21/09/2025OMG.... lol... Okay, this is too easy... lol Gemini is just like "yeah, sure, I can edit this to make it look like you're subscribed"... sure, it watermarks it... but they won't notice, and if they do, that's funny, too. 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 21/09/2025lol.... classic scam. I love how they don't notice I'm fucking with them... lol 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 16/08/2025If anyone wants to fuck with PayPal scammers... They're dumb enough to put their number in the scam message.... 010
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 01/08/2025lol... ah, yeah, so they're really not really reading... Wonder what the "catch" is... 🤔 000
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 01/08/2025Wonder what the catch is, here... Note: I take a "the best lies are true" approach, say things that are broadly true, or true-ish, but maybe with some artistic license. Also say things that are slightly crazy or SHOULD be clear red flags to any sane person. 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 01/08/2025Well, this is a new/different script... I'll give 'em that... 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 08/07/2025Fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch with their head on the way down... 000
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 08/07/2025GenAI is gonna make fucking with scammers soooo much more fun.... 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 08/07/2025Gotta love the Discord scammers who have no idea they're being fucked with... lol 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 28/06/2025I'm definitely pretty happy with these results. Like, this isn't blazingly fast or anything, but given this is over the network? I'm very happy with it. Performance isn't great when the reads/writes are tiny, but over all, still pretty good, and more than sufficient for a desktop. (Ceph RBD) 000
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 26/06/2025Dude... did I seriously get a "Public Safety Message" that was a bit.ly link to x.com with a username "@WSPMissingPers1"??? For a Silver Alert that's nowhere near where I am (Downtown Seattle) or plan to be in the near future? Pretty sure this is NOT the right use of this alert channel... 220
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 22/06/2025Soooo... I did a thing. Took a few weeks... but... I now have a diskless desktop that PXE boots from some fancy PXE infrastructure, and mounts a RADOS block device from my Ceph cluster for root and /boot mounted as CephFS (that the PXE servers can serve from). 100
Bryan Wyatt @brwyatt.net · 14/06/2025He thinks I'm falling for it... I mean... I gave him as much hints as I could.... at this point, it's on him... lolol 100
