In other news, Laurel is doing good after her surgery! But I’m full of anxiety every day knowing they didn’t get all the cancer out and didn’t do the full surgery I requested….now I want her to live a happy remainder of her life instead of going through more (major) surgeries with rough recoveries.

They only did a lumpectomy. They say she did well and I’ll be picking her up at 4. I’ll have to what on the histopathology report to know next steps and possible future surgeries.

Dropped my girl off this morning for her surgery. She spent the night under the covers and directly on my stomach (which I was having terrible pains in). This little girl is always there for me. Send her all the good vibes for a successful surgery, quick recovery, and a good prognosis! 🤞💛

Laurel's surgery is tomorrow. I pushed for a unilateral mammary chain removal (if the vet is comfortable doing it)...idk if I'm being delusional. I don't want to put her through a rougher recovery but I want to believe I caught it in time. It’s really the only way to give her fighting chance.

I opted to get one of the protective cat recovery suits. My cat won’t tolerate the cone/donut! She can’t wear the cones or collars because she slips out of them so easily. She’s a little menace haha.

That’s reassuring! It may be a mammary tumor (not 100% sure). It’s under 2cm, probably marble sized, so as long as it hasn’t spread I’m hoping for the same outcome for my girl! Scheduled for lumpectomy but assuming we’ll need a full mastectomy.

This girl has slept not just with me, but on me, nearly every night for the last decade in Buffalo, NYC, & Chicago. She's been next to me through so much. The thought of not feeling her on me when I sleep and not seeing her the first thing in the morning is crushing. Staying ridiculously optimistic.

Ugh. Good to know. And yeah…the whole penance thing pissed me off. Generation X #1 was my first comíc and immediately fell in love with penance…but after I read the rest of the series I was irked. Loved Husk too but they also ruined her. 😪

Penance is one of my favourite characters. I also don’t like what they did with her in the Generation X comics but hey. Do I need to get back on the ‘97 train? I hold so much reverence for those comics I don’t know how I’ll feel about their adaptions lol

It’s so crazy how we all experience the same things in our own way, huh? Hers may be mammary (it’s on her pouch) but could be adenocarcinoma or something else. Just have to wait and see. I’m sorry for your loss and so glad to hear you kitty has recovered! Gives me some hope! 💛🫶

This is when I brought her home in 2015. The entire SPCA tried to convince me to adopt ANY other cat “are you sure? Not Sunshine over here?” “You want THAT one??” - I knew that she was the one for me. She’s still feisty with everyone else but not with me (hence how I found her lump on her tummy).

Thought runners saying it gives you energy was a lie from big running (all cardio I’ve done like biking, spin, etc. DRAIN me) but I’m l barely wanting to touch my coffee so that fun (but I still want the bittery goodness).

Did my first ever “run” today (walking with lil bursts of running but I live on hills so it’s more challenging than it sounds lol)…I think I discovered what I thought was shoulder pain might be a lung problem. Otherwise enjoyed myself & felt minimally embarrassed. My ankles, however, are unhappy.

Researching for my (potential) book and dear lord. Reader behaviours and the amount AI generated “books” is so discouraging. Part of me wonders if there is an audience for what I’m writing? I think it’s NEEDS to exist in the niche will thy witches drink from the cauldron of information literacy?
