By the way. YOU SHOULD STILL CALL YOUR SENATORS. It matters that they vote no. Because you'll know you did your job as an American and it'll be up to them to do the right thing.

If you have ever wondered what you would do in Germany in the 1930s - you're doing it. Call our federal electeds, take every training you can on organizing, look in every corner you can for even the smallest work you can do.

Folks, you don’t have to watch the video. It’s horrifying, vicarious trauma is real and traumatizing yourself will not help this person or anyone. If you watched already, drinking a glass of water to help flush adrenaline and dunking your face in a cold bowl of water can help.

We're sharing a series of posts about the murder in Minnesota this morning - more specifically how we as human beings respond in this moment. Call our senators and demand they do not vote to fund ICE and *do something* to stop this.

This is disgusting on so many levels. Families of those arrested by ICE near Vail say agents left behind branded “death cards” after arrests, a racist intimidation tactic, according to advocates and community leaders. Our communities deserve better, and we await the results of DHS’ investigation.

Trump tried to cut off child care and family assistance funding for Colorado families. A judge just extended a block on those cuts. Democrats, led by AG Phil Weiser, stepped in to stop an extreme, politically motivated attack on kids, parents and working families. We’re not backing down.

'Why aren't they in the streets' is answered almost every day in my small town by people in the streets! Rather than asking 'why aren't they in the streets' it's worth asking 'why isn't your media showing them in the streets' and 'who is served by downplaying resistane in its myriad forms.'

Honestly? I think it means that we have to triple down on the things that we already know work —to go to the tactics and strategies that have been proven by data. Listening to scholars of authoritarianism, too.

Caucus is how candidates get ON the primary ballot if they cannot afford the costs to get the tens of thousands of signatures they need for some positions. You can absolutely vote in whichever primary you want as UA, but there are Dem candidates that won't be on that ballot if they don't win caucus
110
Broomfield County Democrats @broomfielddems.org · 11/11/2025
And absolutely remain UA reg, that's a very valid and normal choice. But be aware that if there's a Dem candidate you truly like and want to see succeed, if they go through the caucus process instead of Petition you may never see them on a primary ballot if you don't go to caucus to fight for them.

Broomfield County Democrats @broomfielddems.org · 11/11/2025
I (Sasha, chair of the county party) am by no means an advocate of the C&A process, we need to change the whole process. But it's what we have for now and I am responsible for making it work. The more people who attend with passion and drive, the better the candidates we get on a primary ballot.
113
Broomfield County Democrats @broomfielddems.org · 11/11/2025
If a scrappy young socialist Dem candidate wanted to challenge an incumbent senator they would need to get enough caucus support to make it on the primary ballot before any Unaffiliated voters would get to choose them. OR they would need an exhaustive amt of $$$ and energy/time to get signatures.
122
Broomfield County Democrats @broomfielddems.org · 11/11/2025
Caucus also impacts our statewides like governor, attorney general, etc. and state school board and CU Regents. An at-large board member would have to get 50,000 signatures statewide to petition onto the ballot. (it's a system designed to push people to the caucus process)

I will likely do an AMA series on C&A over the coming months as well. My dual roles as county chair and State Credentials chair means I am deeply involved in the C&A planning and execution process. I make the ballots. I want CO Dems to show UP for C&A this year, the best we can manage.
