broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 26/05/2026Back home from Momocon 2026 and holy shit what a time it was. This was both my first convention and my first out of state LAN, and now I definitely don't want it to be the last. I got to spend a lot of time with some really cool people and it was honestly everything I could've asked for and more. 1100

broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 07/01/2026of an ultimately bs fire, and that's guilt I have to live with and learn from. I still have my criticisms of how SSC handled the case, but Six lying/escalating to this level and disobeying court orders was frankly beyond my expectations. I hope Gem and the community can now healthily move forward 080
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 07/01/2026I know I'm late but it's taken me a while to fully gather my thoughts. I'm mostly frustrated that the kindness of myself and some of my friends was taken advantage of in this way. That's entirely on me for not doing good journalism, but now I sit with the knowledge that I partially fueled the flames 1120

broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 23/08/2025However, in my opinion, at this point it's hardly about how to handle a case like Six/Gem and more just how to conduct and carry yourself as an organization under the name Splat Safety Committee. Inciting further harassment and drama for no tangible gain is not how to prioritize community safety. 120
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 23/08/2025Did you make an account today just to defend SSC? Anyway that's a really shitty analogy imo because 1. there were 2 people involved so the perpetrator was obvious, the question was the validity of the claim, which is completely different 2. police and and a restraining order were involved 200
Reposted by broken pinkyBasil ✨ @basil4ks.bsky.social · 22/08/2025I want to begin by saying that I am not close to Jared or Madness, these thoughts are my own, and I apologize for not speaking up sooner Jared's statement emits ignorance and foolishness. 221849
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025Whether you agree with the claim or not is kind of irrelevant, which is why I left that out of my reply altogether. If someone feels so unsafe in the community that they get police and a restraining order involved, imo you have an obligation as Splat SAFETY to do something 1132
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025I understand that, I just think the best course of action for the sake of the community's safety would've been to make your response at a more appropriate time. There's a level of accountability that has to be taken, and today's actions haven't convinced me that SS will keep the community safe. 140
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025This will bring more negative attention to the community right before its biggest celebration and event ever. And, because of that, this will cause myself and many others to not trust Splat Safety, as the reckless release of this doc does nothing to make this community safer. Hope it was worth it. 2250
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025So, back to my initial question. What does this video/document accomplish? This will undoubtedly lead to Six and iMad getting harassed even more, even if that wasn't the intent. This will cause victims to continue to be afraid to come forward with their stories bc of how this case was mishandled. 1261
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025drama and her harassment. I'm not saying to believe all accusations, that would be absurd, but the precedent that this case is setting should make any victim afraid to come forth to this org that's supposed to keep them safe, lest their case be mishandled and personal information be put on blast. 2220
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025timing is doing no favors. However, the biggest issue is that, at the end of the day, the org is called Splat Safety, not Splat Who Was Right and Wrong. A member of the community tried to express that she felt unsafe, and SS not only failed her last year, but failed once again by reigniting the 1260
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025which already led to loss of trust within the community, and Riptide, an event that SS has essentially guaranteed Six will be harassed and therefore unaafe at because of this should she choose to go is an irresponsible choice. Granted, this was obviously supposed to come out much earlier, but its 1230
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025from what I've observed, most people that deserve to get banned are either excommunicated before Splat Safety makes a verdict, or don't get banned by Splat Safety at all. The timing of this coming out is also not helping it. Sandwiching its release between Madness' attempt to re-join the community, 1260
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025over the last 3 years I've been in the community, I don't recall Splat Safety ever being seen as very legitimate in the first place. I never remember trust in the org being very high, with the Isaac and Heller situations coming to mind, and although the doc states there are new faces and processes, 1281
broken pinky @brokenpinky.bsky.social · 22/08/2025After reading the whole doc/script, I'm just left wondering what's the point of making this video now? What does doing this resolve? How does its existence improve the community and make it safer? Naturally, the answer's pretty obvious, and that's to re-legitimize the Splat Safety org, but 36120
