I wanted to share my grandmother’s story but Native people shouldn’t have to share our trauma for non-Native people to care about all the ways Canada has harmed and continues to harm us.

I really want Cursed Morsels: A Food Systems Horror Anthology to happen, but right now, I only have a couple stories I'm considering accepting. A couple stories do not make a book! So, if you have a dark, strange horror or Weird fiction story about food SYSTEMS (not just eating foods), send it in.

I was also thinking recently about how my writing is sometimes charged with being pretentious. I don’t think it is - it’s poetic but my work is still about working people and common experiences of grief, economic precarity, toxic relationships. To me, pretentious lit is boring rich people problems.

I'm all for holding onto physical media, but the CD is too delicate, too mercurial in its way. It'll get scratched, or burned by your friend who doesn't smoke but always has a lighter. We were so close with MiniDisc and so what i'm saying is we should release new albums on Nintendo Switch cartridges

Categories are fake, there will always be weird edge cases where the boundaries fail, this is just a fact. The question is not "is this category REAL or TRUE" the question is "is this category USEFUL" because categories are tools, not features of the universe.
