I've been trying to make modular #origami stars this last week. Managed 2 out of 4 models successfully, and then the difficulty ratcheted right up... Top yellow and orange star is Juan Ignacio, and the bottom, light blue and light pink star is Ignacio. Both models by Maximiliano Ortiz.

Two modular origami stars made from 8 subunits each, that have to be folded as accurately and identically as possible to fit together properly, and stay securely attached so they don't move around without being glued. The top model has 8 points, and is yellow and orange and white. The bottom model is pastel blue and pastel pink, and white, and has 16 points.

Why did the origami paper refuse to be folded? Because it didn’t want to crane its neck! 🐦 For Wellbeing Week, we've got lots of mindful activities for you to do, on your next study break - why not have a go at origami? You'll fine some new origami paper, with cute bird designs, in the foyer.

A really original way of displaying a 1000 cranes. Myles custom built the inside of the 120 x 70 cm frame to create a dual shadow box. 500 strung cranes are on display at the front while 499 are hidden at the back. Myles has left the last crane unfolded so the owner of the wish can remain open.

It’s wonderful. I normally think of tessellations as quite flat-ish but I guess if you’ve gone to all that work to add in the texture then maybe it makes sense to emphasise it with the curved edges?
